Sean Zee did my first tattoo when he was working out of CT a few years ago, I wish I knew then what I do now and would have given him more freedom. What’s his portfolio looking like lately, since he went primarily to facebook I haven’t kept up. (Don’t say it, buttwheat!)

It’s not like Heller is terrible, I just think he’s not quite as good as some of the others I mentioned. Not everyone will be willing to fix someone else’s work, too, without doing a complete coverup. Besides, anyone that’s been mentioned is better than the original artist of that piece anyway so regardless it’s going to be an improvement.

To be honest, I doubt you’ll hear from Chris Adamek. He’s booked pretty far out and he’s selective as to the projects he’ll take on. From Electric, Yak, Schweigert or Ryan are all real good although they do a lot of more traditional stuff. Then go talk to a freakin tattoo artist, some of them can actually draw. I’ll let them tell you how good your idea is.

Congrats, that’s the way most people think is that it wasn’t as bad as expected. Be careful because once you’re hooked there’s no turning back. Picture, please.

If money is a primary factor when getting a tattoo, these kind of results should be expected. And if you’re going to continue to allow money and time to influence the redesign or cover then it won’t get any better.
