I can’t disagree I love tattoo shows and even travelled across the states so I could visit over 50 tattoo studios to look at artists work first hand.
As for Mr Louis Malloy he is a good artist seen a lot worse and many better – what gets me is the attitude as you say he reminds me of my old school maths teacher – knows his stuff but as…[Read more]

That is the kind of material I am after!
I have read many fine tattoo books with great art but there was no passion in the images as I had no idea what motivated the person to have it done.
I am also trying to show to people that having tattoos is not a negative thing and can enhance/symbolise who and what we are – as well as having great…[Read more]

Looks like a nice idea for a tat.
I can understand your mother’s worry about road bikes – it is usually other drivers that cause the accident.
That is how I got my memento after been knocked off my Honda – bastard ran straight over my leg into the bargain.

Hi
Not had a lip tattoo myself but since it is an open wound oral hygeine is very important as your mouth can contain a lot of bacteria.
I would suggest moisturise it regulary and brush/rinse (I would suggest alcohol free) as normal but take care not to pull the scab off with the brush.
I would be interested to see the results – send up a pic…[Read more]

Welcome to tthe board – I am a new member myself. (Hail from leeds – but don’t let our bad football put you off 😉 )
I am currently looking at some research on ppl’s personal experiences on tattooing on a tattooing art vs taboo. The post is under the research tag on the forums. Give me a PM if you are at all interested.

Surfaccing
Don’t take this wrong but your idea made me chuckle. The reason is quite ironic really.
I got left with a real tire tread imprint right across my leg and spent a huge wad of cash having the scar lasered out.
Damn if I had thought on I should have kept the pics of it – could have used it as a real mould to base your tattoo off!…[Read more]

Beautiful tattoo.
Can I ask was done with the traditional method of teeth/comb and sticks as opposed to a gun?
How long would something like that take with the trad methods?
Love polynesian art.

It is difficult to give an opinion without seeing the tattoo.
However I have had several laser treatments for some scarring and I was in the same position after 5 treatments it felt that no progess was been made as it had stagnated. I persevered and whilst there is some outlines it is much better than it ever was.
Talking with the consultant I…[Read more]

Hi
Just caught my attention with the themes. I love Japanese culture and have spent a few years studying their art history.
A few ideas that sprang to mind was ;
Samurai at rest – this is a samurai playing a flute next to a pond with a crane flying overhead.
Dragon Blossoms – A Japanese Dragon that is emerging from the blossoms of a cherry…[Read more]

Well I think that is one beautiful tattoo and shouldnt be covered up…
I admit a weakness for hebrew tattoos because they show a really beautiful scriptic text.
Looking at the size and darkness to get a coy over it you might need to get it lightened. I am not an artist but it seems very dense colouring.
Hope you keep the orig 😉

I had a similar prob with one of my arm tats I tore it with sleeve and peeled a chunk off.
I was advised by the tattooist to let it breathe and use Prep-H or non scented moisturiser, he went onto say as long as dont keep picking at the scab (lifts ink out) they are pretty resilient. Mine turned out fine once it healed.
Good luck with it.

I personally prefer black/shade but if you are getting a scorpion redone I reckon it needs plenty of hues and colour.
Why not expand the red-brown hues across the body of the scorpion, you could even get a mix of colours so that the light ripples across the carapace and get the blood a vivid scarlet.
The blade could be made to stand out more…[Read more]

I have never used the local anaesthtics for my tattoos but have had them used on a leg operation. I was kinda bored as they were tinkering around with my innards and asked the Dr why he made me fill in a stack of paperwork to use the stuff.
His response was that in very very rare cases ppl can have allergic reactions which can result in…[Read more]

Thank-you for your reply. I do have a contractual agrement that I have used in other works that I would apply.
Basically it means that although the person is allowing me to use their expriences or art full acknowledgement is noted to the owner. This would be put clearly on any images or direct quotes from that person.

Rach hi!
The Hebrew is הכוח של שלושה (Hakoach Shel Shlosha)
My wife is israeli and fluent in Hebrew. Mine is a bit rustier so i got her to check 😉
This translation is general gender (there is no male or female sensitive) and this means a literal to ‘The Power Of Three’.
שלושה הוא האחדות

Hi. First of all I would suggest that you wait until the tattoo heals before you decide to make any alterations (drastic or otherwise). A hasty decision could make it worse.
The tattoo actually sounds very unique and nice. The idea that it is pointless because people cannot see it immediately is simply not true.
Tattoos like any art are there to…[Read more]
