It was definitely an afterthought. Had it been planned earlier the “bug” would be a VW micro-bus.

I guess there a variables. I had one that some of the colors were really thick. It got back to normal after about nine months.

I’ve used Aquaphore in the past. It’s main ingredient is mineral oil. Use a water based moisturizer.
The color should be okay if you don’t pick or scratch.
