I had that one time where I got invited to a new years eve party at a tattoo parlor by a guy with his entire face tattooed, got really drunk on captain morgan with another artist, got tattooed (both me and the artist completely wasted), and somehow ended up getting a job out of it. And a ripped dress.
Or that one time I got tattooed by a guy I’d…[Read more]

Check out Peters list. Those are amazing artists and gives you a clue on what to look for.
If you picked an artist KNOWING he was hit or miss and not all that talented.. Sorry but you made your own bed.
Knowledge about hygiene is a minimum requirement, and just because they talk a lot and make it seem like they know a lot, doesn’t mean they…[Read more] -

Having his own shop doesn’t make him a professional. To be honest, it doesn’t look like very good work to me. It’s not horrible, but clearly you won’t get much of a contrast with dark pink and purple mixing like that, plus the yellow and orange.. The places with a pink/blue contrast look the brightest.
And yeah, with second photo I meant the one…[Read more] -

Is he a professional tattoo artist who has been properly trained and who works in a legit shop?
Here’s the thing; Tattoos HEAL. The first one you posted is completely fresh. You grow a couple layers of skin above the ink. If you’re very very pale, the colors may stay fresher. I’m personally pale as a ghost and hardly ever see the sun, so mine have…[Read more] -

You’ll be fine.
It’s actually pretty hard to completely fuck up your own tattoo. It doesn’t need a lot of ointment, just a little bit. And always clean it before you put anything on. But you’ll be fine. You’ll survive. -

The scar looks fairly flat so it should be fine to tattoo over.
A couple things to keep in mind when you want to tattoo over a scar; The scar should be at least a year old, preferably even more. This is to ensure that the skin has healed properly over it, if it still gets red, it’s not healed enough. I’ve had surgery scars tattooed over, one was…[Read more] -

replied to the topic Are you ever too old for a tattoo? in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 11 years, 11 months ago
Unlike these oldies I got my first when I was 15, almost 9 years ago. I’ll stop getting tattooed at a certain age for one reason; I won’t have any room left.
But no. There is no upper age limit. People who tell you things like that are stupid and ignorant and best to ignore.

a couple of other questions for septum.
How long does the piercing have before it changes in size if you take the jewelry out?
How the hell does having a runny nose work? Does snot and stuff get stuck behind it?1) Totally depends on you. Some close up in a couple hours, some never do.
2) Hygiene. -
replied to the topic Non-healing piercing in the forum Pierced Skin 11 years, 11 months ago
Are you sure its infected? A lot of people mistake bad healing for infection.. If it’s infected, treat it as such.
tapering an existing piercing can be a risk due to the scar tissue, but in general navel piercings can take up to a year to heal. Sea salt soaks are outdated, and what you use to scrub for surgery is probably WAY too strong.
Sterile…[Read more] -

You normally don’t actually bleed a lot during a tattoo, unless you’re hungover, drunk, on drugs or like me; some type of bleeders disease. Usually very little.
But just bring anything that will bring up your blood sugar, and make you artist aware of it ๐ No way to tell until you get tattooed! But hopefully you’ll be just fine ๐ -

Ethismos; See what I’m talking about? Glad you’re taking it okay, some people don’t deal well with hearing their tattoo isn’t as good as they thought..

No not as in 3D or realism, but as in.. Any artwork ever that’s not totally abstract. Creating depth is fairly basic, and this tattoo is screaming for it.
I wasn’t comparing it to realistic tattoos either, but anything even resembling facial features. Moles and uniqueness are great, but the eye looks like something a child drew, and as it’s not a…[Read more] -

I’m guessing he means it’s lacking depth.
And I agree. Tons of white in there that serves no purpose at all, the eye and nose are horribly executed, and it’s just.. Sloppy. The linework is chopped, uneven and not good at all. Sorry but I don’t think it’s a very good tattoo. Do better next time!

replied to the topic Blood lines not fading in the forum Tattoo Questions and Experiences 11 years, 11 months ago
Well, bloodlines are used as markers and meant to be tattooed over. Now these can be done several different ways; If you’re getting a large tattoo done, but you’re about to tap out, the artist may do bloodlines for the remainder of the linework so they don’t have to do a new stencil and try to make it fit with the existing tattoo. Pretty common…[Read more]

You always wait a year, but you have no tattoos and you’ve thought of these for four years? Lack of logic, but I’ll bite.
Alright. Tattoo artists are human beings. Sometimes they have a bad day, maybe they think you’re underage or they’ve already done five of a similar design this week and maybe some of the questions you ask are so obvious to…[Read more]
