For my money, I’d also recommend a nautical theme, but, frankly, a koi would look idiotic. There’s two reasons for this:
A) Koi are one of those things like skulls, fairies, and butterflies that everybody’s got. Now, while being a common image isn’t the kiss of death, as with a little imagination any of these can be made unique, you got to…[Read more]

Just grit your teeth and bear it man. You don’t want to be that guy who groans and whimpers and grunts throughout the process. Try talking to your artist while he works, or if you’re into reading and can hold a book one handed, just read your way through. Lord knows when I had a six hour sitting for my back piece I spent the lion’s share of it…[Read more]

Rib side tattoos are a difficult thing because they require you to see into the future accurately. For the piece to continue to look right, you need to remain fairly close to the weight you were when you got it. Gain a hundred pounds when you’re 50 (or lose it) and it’s going to be seriously fucked. I’m of the opinion that you shouldn’t get side…[Read more]

It’d be easier if you’d at least tell us the imagery incorporated into your shield, or, better yet post a pic of it.

Well, I got to say man, the dog pissing the sterile room beats out any bad hygiene story the rest of us have, but I got a better stupid artist story then rolling up at the counter.
I’m the official tattoo guy in my family. When one of my cousins, aunts, siblings, ect. want to get ink done, they pretty much always come to me and ask me about…[Read more]

As it starts with the sky going downwards with a graveyard death etc. hows about continuing it down so it goes underground into the graves with zombies crawling out. As there is a little girl there what about a zombie teddy bear?I totally second this option. That sounds awesome.

HiIt looks like a really poor attempt at copperplate style.
I would seriously reconsider the whole idea if you do not know what it is you want tattooing on your wrist. What you may think looks great today may not be the same in 10, 20, or 30 years.
My advice is go back to the drawing board and give it a long think on what…[Read more]

The growing thing should really be a nonissue. Seriously, you’d have to grow like FEET before it’d really mess with your design on your back man.
My only advice is this: be really damn sure you want it. Not because you’re 18, but because you oughta be sure with every tattoo.
When I turned 18, I thought it’d be cool to get a tattoo that read “I…[Read more]

Tattoo design is a deeply personal thing, and without knowing you, no one can give you something really personalized and, well, you.
With that said, if the cross was mine, I figure I’d continue the flower motif. Get some vines and flowers crisscrossing your arm. Make sure they’ve plenty of thorns, keeping with the christian imagery. I see…[Read more]

Yeah, I’m going to have to go with the crowd and say the shading in the wave is pretty freakin sweet. Seriously, the whole design is good man. Congrats on the ink, and welcome to the club!

Not to he disrespectful, it’s kinda a silly a thing to worry about. As someone up thread said, it’s not like they’re ever going to find out, and honestly, they’d wouldn’t even give a damn. I wouldn’t bring it up with your artist man, because he’s gonna look at you like you’re an idiot. It’s good to be conscientious about others’ intellectual…[Read more]

Before you totally write the wrist tattoo off, I just want to toss my 3 cents in here.
First off, I work in the corporate offices of Macy’s. If you want hyper-conservatism, then look no further. But, on the other hand, I’m also very significantly tattooed. Even wearing long sleeves (which I pretty much never do), there is no hiding my ink, or my…[Read more]
