Just leave it alone it’s not too far off if you add to it you’ll probably make it worse

If I had a £ for every time that image was used for a Tribal question.
My thoughts are it looks right on the person due to physique and if you gain wait it isn’t going to look good. No real artistic capabilities shown in this style as mentioned before now dated.

It’s disappointing but not surprising. There are some excellent artists in the UK which we have suggested but unfortunately it seems Wardy would rather be completely covered as quick as possible in cheap, average or worse tattoos from a friend. Again, to each their own but it’s sad when people choose quantity and price over quality. The spider is just ok but that pinup is poorly done. You can’t go to just any average artist for something like a pinup or a portrait because it will really stand out. We all like Wardy and it’s his body but it’s sad when people settle for average tattoos just to get quick, inexpensive coverage. Sorry to be so brutally honest but you genuinely seem like a good guy and seeing you ignore our advice and settle for this type of ink is kind of sad.

+1 Completely agree with all of the above. It doesn’t cost much to get a decent pin up in the uk. What would be talking £200-250 or £30 for a terrible piece I don’t understand how you can be proud to show your new work to people when you KNOW what is available out there. Its not like your a complete noob who hasn’t a clue how good tattooing can be.

I would be concerned that if it can be done it would look like a black swirl in 5-10 years.

I have never heard of this expression before as I would have thought you either need permanent solid lines or not?
Why Ghost line your entire piece when surely it would take just as long to do the job properly 1st time with the right needle choice?

The line work is shaky as hell with some lines running through others, some lines almost disappearing so what ever this Ghost line thing is I hope it fades to nothing for the sake of this piece?

I would have the though the artist would have had a copy of the stencil he could us again if needed and take a photo if required?

Looking at the portfolio there as some bad tattoos some average tattoos and some that look pretty good. The line work on pieces like tribal that need a solid line has shown that there is some inconsistency in his line work but what would concern me more is there doesn’t seem to be any bio-mech work in his portfolio to compare. His use of colour is questionable of some of his colour pieces also.

MrChen knows his eggs and although it hurts when people give you an opinion that you may not have expected. I would consider the next steps carefully on this piece as it is a big tattoo to regret if it doesn’t turn out how you envisaged.

Worked when trying a couple of hours later. Not many masters on this show. The girls were awful.
That Head tribal piece was a killer!

If you want to add to it I would have planned for the piece you have to be much bigger and part of a half sleeve so you can get much more detail in.
The piece looks good and may be hard to add to it but your artist will know best.

Hey.
I always make sure I have an understanding of what style of tattoo and what subject matter I am looking at before I go for consult as it is difficult to have a consultation if you go in and say I want a tattoo and have no ideas at this stage.

If you have a couple of ideas that your trying to decide on then take these ideas to your artist and they will no doubt give you their opinion in which will translate in to the better tattoo.

As mentioned by MrChen a good artist will have a moderate to long waiting list some artists are happy to book over a year in advance and some like to keep to a few months so this would give the artist time to sketch the two ideas up and then you could always decide from this point onwards which one you have set your mind on.

Make sure you do a lot of research before 100% decide on an artist as when I was starting the research process I was not very educated in what to look for but now I know the difference between bad, good and excellent work and this is very important before setting a date and time for your tattoo.

It is worth finding out who does excellent work in your country in the style you are looking for researching their portfolios and scrutinizing them heavily even if they are not within travelling distance for you as this will help when looking at artists portfolios a bit nearer home and you can compare the skill levels.

Good luck and post photos when done.:D
