You can show the artist the image as a general reference and let them draw something, you sure as hell don’t want to copy someone else’s tattoo.

Welcome, I’m from CT also but you’re at the shore near the sub base while I’m more centrally located.

Be glad if it’s losing color, it will make it easier to cover. And I would think another artist won’t want to touch it for at least a couple of months.

Welcome from another northeasterner(CT). I think there’s a few here from the NY area, where do you get your ink?

Good luck with everything. These are tough economic times for most people, but it’s not wise to cut costs when choosing your tattoo artist.

I like it too. I’d like to see a closer picture though, not sure of that black background.

This is my sort-of-memorial tattoo. There are many elements to this which have subtle representations of my family members, all of whom are still alive. I decided to get a family remembrance tattoo before there were deaths so I would have happy memories.

I gotta admit, I like the sleeve but don’t like the lettering or the quote. It isn’t necessary in my opinion.

A goddamn free, unprofessionally done tattoo for your kids? Seriously? I don’t care if this is finished or not or why he had to stop, it looks very poorly done and the loser you let do the tattoo does not have the skills to make it any better. I know I’m being harsh but you should be embarrassed to not even have gone to a professional shop to get…[Read more]

Wardy, the Star Wars piece is by Oleg not Gogue. I love Oleg’s work. I’m pissed because I was booked with him for this past Sep when he was going to be guesting in Mass but he had to cancel due to visa problems getting to the U.S.

Most people get very nervous or worried after getting their first tattoo, I know i did. And please remember the tattoo goes through stages of healing so it’s really impossible to determine ink loss or need for touch-ups until it’s fully healed. Even if you do need a touch-up, don’t worry about it it’s fairly common. As long as you’ve followed…[Read more]

All of these comments are true but there is a dry heal method which includes keeping it wrapped for 3 days or so, but I think it’s supposed to be dry when it’s rewrapped. With my last tattoo, I tried the dry wrap for a day and it obviously became wet and sweaty and I just didn’t think that was a good thing so I abandoned that method. Some people…[Read more]

Not all tattoos will scab during healing, you really don’t want any scabbing to occur, especially the thicker ones. Typically, a new tattoo will instead begin to peel like a sunburn after 3-5 days and this process can last a few days or more while the new layer of skin is developing. When you start to peel stop using the bepanthen and switch to…[Read more]

Over moisturizing can cause ink loss or rashes but mostly it can saturate the healing tattoo and cause thick scabbing which then can lead to ink loss. For me, I apply a very small amount after my morning shower and then once again before bed and sometimes one other time in between but err on the side of dryness.
Regarding the comments, expect…[Read more] -

I would love to see a picture of the tattoo by the way. And I believe many people in the UK use bepanthen so I guess that stuff is fine, just don’t use too much. The biggest mistake people make is over-moisturizing, technically you would heal fine if you didn’t put much of anything on it at all. Depending on your schedule, I’d clean the tattoo and…[Read more]

I used tattoo goo one time and the artist said it clogs pores and to toss it. I use aquaphor ointment initially then switch to pure shea butter or unscented lotion. My recent tattoo I healed fairly dry with just shea butter occasionally and I healed really well.
I guess if you feel the need to use a barrier with the uniform just try to use…[Read more] - Load More
