i think it can work only if he dedicates a good part of his back shoulder area for it. but it definitely wont work with just the upper arm area.

ill take being a douche bag over having that on my back any day. for the record, i tried following up the sarcasm with a helpful post (just in case anyone out there is pulling out the ban hammer).

and if you cant afford a grand or two in the first place, you should have gotten something smaller instead of trying to pay a couple hundred or whatever for a full back piece.

next time, save up until you can go to a real tattoo artist and not someone working out of their kitchen.

Personally i think a lighter background compared to a sharper foreground on your piece will actually be better so the ship pops out more, but i dont think your artist did a good job in general. the darker you are, the more colors dont look right. the paler you are, the more colors look vibrant. and yes whites almost always fade into a milky light brownish color on people that arent pale. ive seen whites on pale people that look as white as it did when the in kwas fresh. white on my skin never hold the vibrance.
