I’ve been walking around a LOT the last few days…but no real elevation for it. Yesterday I was back and forth and back and forth throughout the house with everything. Keeping moving to prevent blood clots is a different thing than for swelling though…but I can see your point. Sadly though that just isn’t working.

I kept it elevated through the night and it’s looking a little more bony again instead of puffy…I’ll do the same off and on today and reapply the ice pack. I have to get the house clean (after getting back from our vacation it looks like a bomb went off in here!) but I’ll take breaks.

Oh! Super good point! lol

I’ll try to stop panicking for the next couple of days and keep off of it as much as possible. I guess really I just needed to get my irrational thoughts down and for someone to point out just HOW irrational they are. lmao

Probably not, lol

Manatees don’t look like much. I just wanted to make sure he didn’t look like a grey blob on my body. I’m 29 btw (never too old to get something you’ve loved since you were a kid put on you)…it’s just a super cute tattoo that I’m very happy to finally have. My husband actually did the original design in the first link, and then the tattooist redid the design to what I have.

The only thing that is odd is that the balloon is blue. We talked about purple ink, and the ink WAS purple…two different shades…but it’s blue on me! lol It’s okay, it’s just weird.

I love the fact the manatee looks so happy to have a cupcake, lol. It’s like an underwater party! 😀 Yeah…it’s like I’m five some days.

When I got my first one, my tattoo artist said not to do those things until it has completely healed which for me, took about four weeks.

I had already found someone in Tampa. Ascension Alpha/Omega in Orlando. Since I’m in Panama City, Floirda their aren’t very many people here I would allow to tattoo anything on me. I’ve gone through so many portfolios and since we travel frequently, I started looking for places I’d be shortly and would be able to make multiple trips to.

There are a few artists at that shop I’d be okay with based on their portfolios. Thankfully I’ll get to go down shortly and actually stop and and see the shop and meet them. I sent a request to Nick there to see what he thinks and what the next steps are at that shop. I explained about the detail, and that while it’s cute, it can be way better and can be something unique….but I need help. I sent a link to the image as well. Again, the good thing is I can be down there just about every weekend if I need to be!

Good idea. My husband and I aren’t artist, all we can do is take what I like and put it together. He’s brilliant with website design, but neither of us can draw a manatee, lol.

So I can send concept to a tattoo artist who can work at it right?

I agree it can be better, it’s why I posted here! Most of you have far more work done than I have and can help. Even if someone comes along and hates it, well that’s okay. It’s not on their body…lol…I just need help figurig out how to make this perfect.

Thanks!

Hi, i do not have a tattoo. but I’ve been planning my body suit(except my sleeves so i can work) for a year now. So i was thinking of what is going on my calf and a question popped out in my head.
“What if i am allergic to tattoo ink?”

You should really take the advice of others and google tattoo allergy. I was really concerned before I got mine as well as I’m allergic to TONS of things. I chose black and white because the possible allergy reaction was less, but there are also many types of inks available with different compounds out there. Once you google it, you can see the images of what could happen and what the chances are, then go in and actually talk to a tattoo artist. They can give you more information and give you specifics about the type of inks they use.

Ultimately, when I did the research I realized that I wouldn’t lose my limb or my life due to an allergy reaction. If I had one, I’d lose the ink almost completely, or the worse case scenario was that area would become slightly disfigured due to scarring. Now I know it may sound insane to some….but after all the reading I realized the risks were pretty low and I’d be willing to risk a six inch area of my body to finally get the tattoo I’ve always wanted.

While maybe not exactly what you are looking for…I’m currently browsing wallpaper websites for inspiration. Not computer wallpapers…but the stuff you put on your wall, lol

I LOVE what I’m seeing and can’t wait!

haha Yep. I guess he imagined I’d get one, start doing drugs, gain 500 pounds and then sleep with whatever guy walked by.

It’s kinda funny now and he loves my tattoo. I think if a guy is SO against it he isn’t willing to research it or even CONSIDER it…then he’s not worth it. If I want my ears pierced seven times…then so be it…they are my ears, lol. All relationships at one time or another will face a topic that one person hates and the other loves. It’s important to long-term relationship health to talk it through, figure out why everyone feels the way they do and try to learn more about the subject or find a compromise.

It’s your body and there is always a chance whatever guy/girl you are currently with won’t be around forever. Why base your decisions on them, especially with something that is yours?

My husband didn’t want me to get any tattoos. He had this image of a certain type of girl with them, and that they always would look horrible. He finally came across a cashier one day while grocery shopping who had the most amazing tattoos, I went with him the next time and pointed out how a female doesn’t have to look slutty with a well thought out and well done tattoo. I bought some magazines and showed him more examples as well as explained how I’ve always wanted one and I was going to do it since it was my body…but because he had to look at me each day, I wanted him involved and wanted him to like it.

Basically I forced him into helping me look at tattoo designs and CONSTANTLY sent him pics..then made an appointment, lol. By then he realized that a lot of tattoos can be amazing and he was okay with it.

Recently I told him I want a second one and am forcing him (again) into looking at pics so I can come up with an idea. The more I do that, the more involved he gets and more open he ends up being, lol. I’m glad he finally agreed, he would have been pissed if I had come home with them just out of the blue one day….but well…I would have eventually just come home with it, lol

Anyway…ultimately do what makes you happy.

How is it looking after a couple of days? How old was your tattoo when this happened?

I’m in the US, Nebraska. I didn’t know I had the option of dry healing and unfortunately because I can’t get insurance through work or on my own…the doctor is someone I’d like to avoid.

It’s very frustrating because I really just want to do everything right and keep it safe and healthy until it heals.

It’s amazing how many different aftercare procedures there are. I was informed to wash mine with antibacterial soap 3-4 times a day for 7 days, and apply aquaphor once my skin dried. After 7 days I could switch to a normal lotion.

I was informed to wash mine before adding any new ointment over it…that way I wasn’t smothering it. I’d say wash it, let it dry completely and then add new cream over it….but I’m a super noob so hopefully someone else replies for you too, lol
