As S.Neil has said the needle has gone too deep and the tissue has been torn allowing the ink to seep beneath the dermis.

It is only in the first week or so it should be avoided petroleum is really thick oil base that clogs up the pores massively on cuts.

This creates a barrier through which bacteria can build up in as it is water resistant – its like gumming up the holes if you like.

It is never a good idea to tattoo over a scab it can lead to the ink dropping out, infection and scarring.

My advice is get the appt suspended and wait till it heals so you can get the tattoo the size and placemnt you really want – it is on for life.
