I use Intenze, Mom’s,Kuro Sumi, silver back, Zuper Black, One Black, and on occasions I will use Talens Black for some effects I am after.

Mom’s Ectoplasmic Green,& Monthly Red are very good colors, They are a creamy ink, so those who do not like the thicker inks probably will not like Mom’s inks. They are relatively the same price as the Intenze lines so its not really worth buying a hole set of mom’s just for a few good colors.

I agree with izarras_ink, I only like dragon blood red from kuro sumi, but I must say that I have converted the use of bold reds to Intenze Bright Red, very bright and vivid red, heals well.

B/G I tend to only use Silver Back 1-4, older I get the lazier I become with making inks. They have a good shade tone bases that are very consistant from one bottle to the next.

Yes Silver Back set 1-4 is very good ink. I was turned on to it by a freind and love it. I also use Kuro Sumi grey wash for large peices.
I also use Moms (Millinium) Inks and I use them alot mainly their monthly red and ectoplasmic green. Goes in really well and heals very bright.
For all of my really dark work that I do I personally will Use Intenze True Black for lining and Intenze Zuper Black for fill in. Zuper Black is very thick so it tends to smear when you try to wipe it off. But I still prefer how it heals quick, and heals very black.
I use alot of different brands because I find that I like some of each brand and it helps with the final look that I am after.

I seems that you have put alot of thought into what you really want. I have done sun flowers on womens lower arms. I will try to post a pic tomorrow. Photos are at my shop and I am at home lol. The one that I had done was several (3) sun flower heads. That was spiraled around the wrist going up. The first sunflower was on top the wrist and spiral upwards around to the lower forearm. The second flower was in the inner forearm. And the last was more towards the backside of the lower forearm. I inner twined a pink ribbon around a vine with leaves. It turned out pretty good. She loved it. She had the idea of the sun flower on her outter wrist. So when I drew the design up she went with it.

Every Studio Artist has their way of doing things. When I went through my apprenticeship years ago. I was paid some money for certain things such as drawing sheets of flash for the shop. Now I was treated the same with flash as any other flash artist. If the shop owner liked the flash and thought it would sell, he paid me the going rate for the sheets. Now as far as the time I spent doing what everyone else did not want to do, such as cleaning and running the autoclaves. I kept my mouth shut when I wanted to wine a bit. What I wasn’t realizing right off was that I was learning a valuable lesson. The best Artists in the world have to have the best in equipment and it must be maintained. I have been a fan of Paul Boothe for years and would love to have some of his work on me. But if I knew he was being lazy with cleaning and I ran a chance of getting deseases or infections from him, I would not want him to work on me. Now when I started I did not make much money. And I did alot of free work for my lessons. But when I was all done with it and Mr. Bill felt I was good enough to be cut loose for certain tatts I started making some more serious money. I know that while I was in his shop we all did things his way. He was a great artist and a great friend. I learned that tattooing is not really just a job that pays very well, its a life style that some feel comfortable in and they do well. Now I know that if I started wining toBill about all this free work I was doing for him, he would have made life very simple for me as he escorted me out the front doors and told me to have a nice life. I know that when I take on apprents I do it the way that I was trained. It worked for me and it works for them. Now granted if some hot head comes into the shop telling me how to do things when they have no idea, I will be nice and walk them out as well.

Your art work is great. Very nice images. I will agree with kisses on the complexity of the designs for tattooing uses. There is a few modifications that would need to be made to the artwork, when tatts are put into the skin the lines need to be far enough apart so that they will not bleed into each other. Most of the time some of the lines which are to close will be simplified or even just shaded in so that the blurring does not occur. I do like your art work, its some of the better that I have seen around the web.
