Could be just because its healing.
Mine had a yellowish tone to them at first, which looked very odd. But my skin was just slightly infected, all healed up nicely 🙂

Depends on a lot. Artist, placement, their popularity, etc etc etc. F.ex I live in Norway, and the only artists around here you’re gonna find who work for 100$ an hour, are scratchers. Hell, that’s cheap even for them. I know artists who would charge about 2000$ to do something like that as a full chest piece, with color.

Just realize that a feather&text tattoo is one of the most common, most popular tattoos these days. If you use enough black, anything will contrast well.

You’re probably just reacting to the red. Not very uncommon, usually it will heal fine but it takes longer and can look fairly nasty at first ;p

Well, it’s not going to stay a wonderful, pitch solid black no matter what you do. Your skin will alter the color somewhat.
But yeah, new skin growing in etc can make it look a bit foggy at first. Can always just use some bodylotion on it if you get dry skin.
Still won’t see the final result just yet, it’s not 100% healed 🙂

Looks slightly off in some places to me as well, but again; This is a very fresh tattoo! I know tons of artists who put a ton of black in their work, which will make it look dark or somehow how at first, but in a few months when it heals up properly, you’ll have a very nice tattoo that will also stand time and not fade away 🙂

How are you treating it and did a professional do it?
It’s normal, for a not-optimum aftercare. Doesn’t look infected, just a bit irritated and with some thick scabbing. If you’re using a thick lotion, you might have been putting on too much or not washing it well enough.

The skull would be easiest to work with and make a sleeve out of. Tons of things you can do and add to it! You can add more skulls, make it a horror piece, add portraits, chains, whatever you want really. I’d suggest finding a new artist first of all, figure out what you could imagine adding, and have them re-do it a bit to fit in.
