Sounds like a pretty crappy stunt he’s trying to pull, and tattoos on the hands are a definite no-no when looking for a job (where I’m from anyway).

If he loved you and wanted to marry you for who you are, why would it matter if you didn’t have some stupid gang-affiliated mark on your hand.

What’s the deal with shaving? Is it safe to continuously shave over a tattoo for many years, or will it damage the tattoo somehow?

If you explained something like that to the artist, they could draw something up for you. You might have to go there just so they can measure your leg to see how big of a canvas they have to work with.

If you start small and get bitten by the tattoo bug, you’ll be kicking yourself you didn’t go bigger. Having said that, it’s no big deal to add on to a small tattoo, I just prefer the look of one big flowing piece instead of a bunch of smaller pieces attached together.
