If your tat is on a natural crease line in your skin you might expect it to feel sore but as sharp shorty said if the swelling etc lasts more than a few days then ask a doctor to take a look at it and possibly get some antibacterial cream to sooth it.

i worked in and around tattooists for quite a while and i have to say i dont know anyone who has ever had a really bad problem with a tattoo.

Piercings sure i have seen ears need to be cut down and nipples go crusty etc but its an open wound which is more prone to infection.

my first job in a tattoo parlour consisted of scrubbing the floors with bleach every morning before cleaning down all the counters and ensuring everything was as clean as i could get it before the shop opened.

i mean would people go to a dirty surgeons ?

isnt there some sort of ultrasound treatment you can use which breaks down the ink better?

i have heard of so many different ways that this can be done but never heard of the results.

yeah vaseline works really well. it keeps the tattoo sealed from the water which is good.

you do need to try and keep it away from the chemicals in the water as much as possible so possibly even wrapping it too.
