I can’t tell without a picture, but it sounds like a classic blowout.

When the tattooer goes too deep with the needle the ink spreads out and looks blurry.

Have a consultation. They’re free. If you like the tattooer’s portfolio, and have a good feeling about working with them, at that point something gets drawn up and you usually pay a deposit.
If you don’t feel right about the tattooer, you get out then.

Interesting tattoo. I don’t care too much for black and gray, but yours is nice.

Since starting with the chain, I would consider bicycle parts specific to your bike of choice in a collage of sorts.
