Nooooo. Don’t get that. BECAUSE I TOTALLY WANT THAT!! ๐
But seriously that is really a beautiful tattoo. WOW. Looks like someone suffered for beauty – cuz if I’m not mistaken that’s a ditch I see. AMAZING piece. Do you know who the artist is? I might have to add them to my wishlist.

When I think about you sitting for 52 hours since last June I can’t help but think is that is 10 months of healing and peeling. Looks like it has been well worth it though.
However, no more time out in the sun for you, sir. You’ll be covering that leg up or hiding in the shade for sure, keeping it all beautiful and shit.

If you keep this up, you are going to convert me into someone who likes traditional style tattoos!
Very nice work.

Wardy is right.
Since it will be a few days before a Dr is an option I would wash it good with soap and water at least 3x a day and dry it carefully. Don’t put anything else on it, let it dry heal. Don’t use hotel cloths or towels on it, they can carry bacteria.
If it is still oozing when you can see a Dr. then see one. If it looks ok then…[Read more]

Stop using that ointment immediately and go see your doctor.
A simple google search of Baneocin found this info: Baneocin ointment is not known to have any contribution towards skin healing. It actually has a negative effect on the skin. Some of these effects include causing extensive severe skin lesions.
Gloves would not be used for a finger…[Read more]

I would spend the time enjoying the places and experiences, and collect photo’s and reference material along the way. Then after you get back you can research and find a REALLY GOOD artist who can do justice to the piece.
If you get little ones along the way:
a) there will be no flow to the tattoo, there will be no continuity or consistency,…[Read more] -

I don’t understand why you are confused about the aftercare. Didn’t the artist give you a sheet to read over and take home with you that explained exactly what to do? This is standard practice in any legit shop.

It came out really nicely but, like he said now that is all filled in your lettering kinda disappears. It looks like the lettering is narrower than the outlines (at least on the flowers). If they beef it up a little the words will have enough weight to stand next to those nice bold colors. Maybe that’s already part of the artists plan for next…[Read more]

Unfortunately I have to agree with the others…Laser is the best option, remove it and go to an actual tattoo artist in a reputable shop. If you can find the right artist they may be able to fix it and add to it but definitely go to a reputable shop.

Very cute. Cute ‘n girly. I like the skull and ponytails quite a bit. I bet you’re spending a lot of time rolling up your pantleg to show it off!
I would find a different artist next time though because a couple of the lines are a little bit crooked, but I can see why your happy with it. Congrats!

I’m sorry but I’m not from down there. I know of two shops up here who do nipple tattoos, and do them really well.
So if anyone around Vancouver who is going through that happens to see this thread (and needs a nipple or two) contact either Teresa at Electroladylux (on Commercial Drive) or Funhouse Tattoo (on Cambie) and I am sure that they can…[Read more]

Major bummer. And if I wasn’t half way around the world from there I would jump all over that opening!! (to be clear I’m talking about the tattoo appointment – not that other thing you were using all the big letters to talk about) ๐

I’ve had an artist offer to use a little bactine (wiped on, NOT SPRAYED) at about the 6 hour mark. It helped A LOT, but it has to be re-applied about every 20 minutes. Can only be used after all the skin is already “broken”. He diluted it in water and wiped it on.

I’ve never looked into laser, so I can’t give you any idea of price. But in my opinion if it means that you end up with a better result and a tattoo that you love, instead of just getting just something that works to cover the old one, then it is worth every penny. The end result should be something that you love and love to show off, not…[Read more]

A big black eightball?? ๐
I hope that your artist is REALLY good at coverups because that is a lot of black in an area with not a lot of room to work with.
It’s a bit late now, but did you consider lightening it up with a little laser action? It sure would have opened up your options.
Good luck tomorrow.

Welcome aboard! There’s some great advice to be found here.
Are you going to wait until its done before you give us a look at it? You don’t have to, you know. Its kind of fun to see it in progress and then see how it turns out. C’mon, just a peek?

I tip my local artist with lotsa cash, but last time that I travelled to the States for some work I brought cash and some Maple Whiskey Liqueur – because what’s more Canadian than Maple and Canadian Whiskey?? (Except HOCKEY – damn, wish I’d thought of bringing down a jersey!!)
