I love that placement font is too small and may merge over time…

What is the deal with the UK artists and thier “clingfilm”? Do you not realize that clingfilm used to cover fresh tattoos is a bad idea. When you use it, it keeps the wound from getting air and breeds bacteria. I believe that the only time your tat should be covered is on the drive home and then it should be covered with a form of bandage. The plasma that oozes from a fresh tattoo should be absorbed in a bandage. How will this guys tat come out better by keeping it sealed in cling for 7 days? I think it will slow the healing process and possibly cause an infection.

You missed out the part in that copying and pasting prosses of googling ‘tattoo aftercare advice’ Its at the discression of the Artist. Working in the business I can tell you wet healing (as would heal faster/better when wet) Works far better then dryed. skin dose not form a scab therefore the ink wont flake out of the skin.
Thats just my 2p.

With all things tattoo it is a partnership between the artist and client. artist gived advice on best care. its up to the client to follow. not just. I’ll take it off in two hours and not clean and cream it. It happens but when shit hits fans its the artists fault.

From experience wet healing is better. Thats what I was taught thats how I treat my own tattoos and they are still black to this day.

I find people who have the same ‘issue’ as you need to keep their work covered for MUCH longer. I recomend 7 days. clean in the morning add your normal ointment, and then again in the eve. keeping it covered with clingfilm… blah blah blah. stay out of the sun. and the pool.

Nice guns btw, you made this girl very happy.

Yay for getting a clichรฉ tattooed on your body that everyone and their brother’s all ready got! Meaningless twaddle for the win mother fuckers!

The design’s solid, but do you really want such an empty phrase used to justify any and everything on you?

Love. Peace. Metallica.

Yay for liking a chichรฉ band!

Kusoh… Nothing in life is original. If thats what he wants then thats what he gets… I think its alittle too femmรฉ and a little large and you’d have to spin around for people to read it. other then that like the font. but it is way too girly… ๐Ÿ˜€

In my younger days. (oh to be young again) A friend of mine requested a tattoo over strech marks… the skin did not take too well to being tattooe’d and I had to colour the whole thing with an outline… Depends on how bad it is tho. ๐Ÿ™‚

I agree 3 days is fine… (as allot of people can’t be btohered with the whole 7 days they tend to stop then) reverse psycology ๐Ÿ˜‰

Again din’t see much difference between using the two. AfterCare is way more conviniet to carry in a bag and wont attack you eveytime you open the lid…

Mind you my clients keep getting bepanthen (hearts) me baby bibs and give them to me. ๐Ÿ™‚ (im expecting in 2 months LOL!) so thats always good.

Hi Apes

Not a tattoo artist but from my research a few pointers to improve your office/studio. I say this even if it is for skins/fruit/practice as will get you into a good habit for if/when you get your own place or rent.

First of all no soft furnishings. The reason for this is that droplets of body fluids (saliva, blood etc) can become embedded in the chair and carpet. They also harbour dust and germs which can be invis to the naked eye.

Also these are almost impossible to sterilise – whereas replacing the floor with lino and a hard chair means that any spills can be cleaned up easily.

Autoclave/sharps bin/disposable gloves. I know space is an issue but it is highly important that you keep these on show. It shows the customer you are serious about hygiene and is a physical reminder to yourself. Also even with practice wear the gloves.

That desk simply has to go or get it covered with a disposable and sterile covering(s). Seeing something that is ink stained or has not been wiped down is not good practice. Those fingerprints reflected in the photo which are smudged contain bacteria (as you are probably aware).

I would also suggest removing the personal affects (not the books but the ornaments etc) this is because it is a work area and should be treated as such. Also it is good practice to wipe down all shelves and surfaces where you are working.

With regards to the machines – well I am not an artist, but I have seen some very expensive hand-made customs jobs and ones which have been bought off ebay. I would not be able to state the difference in handling as never used them.

The advice I had from an artist was to buy one very good outliner and one very good shader rather than wasting money on cheaper duo machines. Although like anything if you are practicing on skins then money may be tight.

Anyhow hope you take onboard some of the positive crticisms.

Matthew

Thanks Matthew and Tartainmack, I will make these improvements and show you how it looks after a do over, sorry I got the wrong idea and pissed people off with my attemps, but I think in the end with is what I was expecting and I can only learn from it.

I do understand where outlaw is coming from and the other person.
I look down on newbies too (even though I don’t notice im doing it.) when there pushing scarps of paper or shit paintings at me. ~_~’ or attampt engine engraving… (with out heat proofed paint) or some other crap examples I can’t think of.
Gomenasai.

Also the reason why im not dying to get a place in a store is most men (you guys pra-rooved it!) are cocks.
Instead of healping people learn they just blast them!

nicer pointers would have been nice. what you should I do to make it more ‘acceptable’ by your standards. and not to just assume I am a certain age and a certain classification. I have an education and cetificates.
(And propper injections as I work with chicldern to safe garn me against illness found in blood)

So im sorry its not to your liking. please tell me how I should improve my desk area. (nicely)

Im sorry I don’t own a space to open a propper room for this but its mainly personal practice…

Just a light coil machine one liner one shader, nothing fancy looking…. I guess I got my flahy guitar theory on tat machines. Flashy guitars don’t sound as good as standard looking ones…

but if you can recomend anything That would be brill… I don’t want to be mugged off. all my other art equipment is high standard and I don’t want to slip on something that can be on skin for life. (not that im rushing to tattoo people… just pigs for now :D)

oh the place that sells these things are a company in croydon, im taking a friend with me who tattoos in NW london, for back up ๐Ÿ™‚

cheers again.
