Looks like some blown lines to me but as said above wait until it heals before passing final judgement. A skilled tattooist could go over the blown lines giving them weight (thickening them) this could hide the blow outs.

I think it matters on the tattooists touch and technique. I had a 2.5 hour tattoo that was rough and healed bad. I’ve had 8 hours that healed fine.

It may be a stupid question, but with regards to the visibility of this tattoo I have to ask: Will this tattoo be covered with a thick brush of hair most of the time, or do you shave your head?

Just give it time and see what it does. There’s nothing you can do to undo what’s done, so there’s no point in spending the next few months agonizing about it. Take care of that tattoo of yours, and in the meantime try to find a better tattoo artist for your inevitable next piece 🙂

What can and can’t be done will only become apparent once it’s all healed and the colors have faded to their final shade.. which can take anywhere from a month to three months. Most of it may become utterly invisible once it’s healed.
Would love to see a pic of the complete piece. What is it?

That is a very interesting point, and one I’ve never considered before. Obviously with biomechanics you’d always be fitter and stronger than “normal” humans, so it really doesn’t make sense to have biomechanics on flabby skin and skinny limbs.

It looks like it’s more or less entirely blown out, but he’s right in that you need to wait at least a full month before you can truly see how it will look.

I’ve seen many pictures of geometric tattoos where the lines look straight and shapes look close to perfect. Are these exceptions or does it depend on the size of the tattoo?
Your body is not a piece of paper. It is curved. 100% true is simply impossible. And as I say, for me, 100% true is the entire point of geometric shapes.

Well the problem with geometric tattoos is that straight lines, right corners and perfect circles are utterly impossible. For me, that negates the whole point of the geometric forms. If you’re happy with your forms never being “true”, then go for it. The one without the dots is the least bad of the three.
