In my area you can’t get a tattooing license if you have a blood borne communicable disease. This includes HIV and Hep C.

What if they contracted disease after becoming licensed?

i have forearm tattoos. my job also does not have anything about visible tattoos in the dress code. i am female also, so unfortunately, there is usually more of a stigma attached. honestly, i have zero regrets about tattooing my forearms. yes, people stare sometimes, yes, people comment sometimes. but it doesn’t bother me.

so i say got for it.

it looks like maybe he dug you up a bit…. i would use dial rather than bar soap and maybe aquaphor instead of lotion. it will heal – it will just take longer. but in order to prevent scarring just really try to not irritate it and let the scabs fall off on their own.

i think both are important. i also think it doesnt matter what other people think a good tattoo is – im the one wearing it. lol.
i have a text tattoo. it is a quote from a children’s book that i love to read with my daughter. it’s meaningful and sentimental and i wanted to carry it with me always and think of her whenever i see it. and that’s what i get out of it.

So I recently applied for a job at American Eagle. For those of you who don’t know what that is, its a clothing store that is in most major malls. I had the interview and they said I did great but they couldn’t hire me because of my showing tattoos. I was just shocked that a place like that would discriminate against tattoos. So my response was ” thank you, I don’t want to work somewhere that discriminates against people with tattoos anyways.”

Has anyone else had problems like this before?

unfortunately i think that is a pretty common practice at most places, especially anything dealing with the general public. i am very lucky, i work for the government, and although i do deal with the general public, there i snothing in my personnel handbook stating that i cannot have visible tattoos… so in the summer i wear sleeveless and proudly show off my tattooed arms!
