If you’re concerned about “regret,” then I wouldn’t do a calf placement if you think you may enter a career and want the option of wearing a knee length skirt in a work environment. Given that I have to watch placement and am expected to be a “pillar of the community,” if I wanted such a tattoo, I’d do it on my side or on my thigh.

And that’s exactly how I feel about back tattoos. I can’t enjoy it. That’s a tattoo area for someone else’s enjoyment.

The picture doesn’t work, so I can’t answer.

My back is largely an unspoiled canvas, and while I want a tattoo there, what I want there changes from minute to minute on some days. I’m impressed how many of you people have really good (albeit, not fully realized) tattoo ideas.

And if you’ve watched modern cartoons, most of them aren’t very amusing.

Hadn’t even considered a bonsai on the thigh, but that would work fairly well. Thank you. I’m thinking that would work well if I threw a maneki neko in there… Perhaps some filler of some Butterfly Maple for something different. So many good ideas, Sam. You really know your florae!

I like it as a painting. Would it go just on your upper abdomen? Start on the lower abdomen and stretch to the upper? I’m wondering if you won’t have to alter to proportions a bit to accommodate your body.

The teddy sounds adorable. I don’t have any “cute” tattoos like a lot of women have, and like you, I’m thinking about a “cute” one with the kitty tattoo. But first I’ll do my scar coverup, and then take a break.

That’s a real bummer, Sam. I have plans to move to TX this summer and there’s a good convention yearly in Killeen, which is near where I’m looking at grad school. I’d hate to go to a convention and nothing’s going on. Had some of the more popular folks like Roman de Luna, etc.

Doesn’t look like a reaction to the ink to my eye. I’m going to say it’s just sort of pooled together as the tattoo as aged – Lines become more blurred, and a good outline is essential to maintain the tattoo.
