The sunny weather has started, but my new forearm tattoo is only a week old so I don’t want to expose it to sunshine and it’s too fresh to apply sunscreen on. Spent three beautiful sunny days hiding indoors but I just couldn’t take it anymore. My solution? I went out and bought an inexpensive long sleeve t-shirt that had tight arms. Cut the…[Read more]

How about wooden stakes? That could be the problem!! My brother did refer to me as Dracula just this afternoon. The sun has finally come out up here and it looks like summer may be starting, but I’m hiding indoors due to fresh ink.
Or resentment that due to my bad timing I can now only venture…[Read more]

Not that big of a fan of the unlined flowers… Looks a bit off. Would’ve been better if they had black lines in my opinion.
Also hope the artist has a good idea for that spiral on your shoulder, because from here it… -

First, I think that it is very well done. Second, not that a tattoo ever has to have a “meaning”, but I like your story behind it. Third, it is in a fairly discrete place and if they can’t see it how can they be…[Read more]

The problem with back tattoos is that you can’t see them.
I like to get my tattoos where I can see and enjoy them. After all, I’m the one who paid for them.
That being said – if I ever run out of room on my arms and legs, or the right artist were to suggest it, then I’d consider my back. A chest piece would be just a…[Read more]

Those are all beautiful examples of chest pieces. But c’mon … you know that you are going to end up doing your chest piece AND a back piece.
I am sure that all these guys will enjoy seeing both pieces. (But they would probably want before and after pictures of the chest area.) 😉

A tattoo only has to be “meaningful” if you are being filmed for a TV show. In real life some tattoos are very deep and meaningful while others are just because you like tattoos, or like the image or subject and wanted it as a tattoo.

Your own drawings, that’s cool. And I like the way that the artist tightened up the composition for the tattoo.

His name is Ish Schuurbiers. Online he goes by TattooIsh, and is from Curacao in the Caribbean. Very talented. The mask (including the face) he stenciled from a reference photo. The rest he free-handed on with markers.
My first experience getting a tattoo at a convention, and my first free-hand. Also my longest sitting to date at 8 hours. I…[Read more]

Thanks guys, I’m loving her, too. I’ve named her Isabella, because she is a beauty, the belle of the masquerade ball.
And the artist, Ish, is such a nice guy. I went back again today for the contests and spent a few more hours with him and his family, and watched him work on a sleeve. They were all very nice to be around. If you like his style…[Read more]
