Hi my name is Adam, I’m 38 and had my first tattoo at 15 done with indian ink and a needle and ive been hooked ever since! I am 1 session away from completing a traditional japanese dragon sleeve and chest piece, which is also a cover up of 5 tattoos, done by Diego at MVL tattoo in Leeds, and have just started a bio/mechanical sleeve and chest piece on my left side, in the style of Guy Aitchison, which is been done by Phil Webster of Skin Chaos@tattoo house in dewbury, which im stoked about, and when thats complete im hopefully having a full back piece done in both traditional japanese and bio/mech (will look like the traditional japanese is peeling away and underneath is the bio/mech which well help bring the 2 different styles on each side together! I have heard very good things about Phil but would appreciate any feedback from people who have been inked by him!

Do you have any pics of your bio/mechanical piece in progress? my husband has a bio/mechanical piece would love to see diff peoples takes on it ๐Ÿ™‚

hello and welcome to the forum, just checked out your album – nice ink there. I know what you mean about outlining – I have an idea for a sleeve but right now I’m not sure about the pain on my tender little arms! LOL!

Thanks for you compliments about my back tattoo(s) – regards – Karen

Haha my thoughts exactly!!! My poor tiny arms. I am for sure that it will take me some time to figure out what i would even want to do with it so maybe the idea of the sleeve will just disappear out of my mind!

You’re welcome for your compliments, and thank you for mine ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, I actually have a thread i started today looking for Ideas of how to cover up/add too the flower with a full explanation. There are thoughts of turning it into a bouquet of black roses going up my neck. Other than that This might just be my only piece. The only other thing i’d consider doing would be a sleeve Most likely left arm. As far as the idea of what it would be of, I’m not really 100% sure yet We’ll figure that one out when my back is actually finished.

I’m a HUGE whimp when it comes to the outline step.. I HATE it……… so the thoughts of going through a whole arm piece makes me cringe haha. IF it could be all shading with no outline what so ever I’d be in heaven. I actually fell asleep while she was shading my left side for awhile. Right side, not so much i laughed through most of it.

Welcome to the forum ๐Ÿ™‚ That’s cool that your sister is your cover up artist.

You are partially correct cool but bad all at the same time! She just loves putting me in pain and it scares me! haha, No seriously though I am proud to say she is doing my work, and I am VERY careful of how i joke with her when I know i’ll be getting work done soon.

I had mine done for some time… I was advised not to smoke drink blah blah blah as well. I did smoke, however i took it “”slow”” and smoked as if i was just starting Ie- took little hits.. i was terrified of messing something up! I ate soft foods- Mashed potatoes/apple sauce ect. Rinse with diluted listerine just as everyone else said.

Some people swell more than others. If you work at a place that might not take liking to the piercing i would suggest that you take some vacation and get it done then giving it time to heal and the swelling to go down so you can speak clearly again.

After the proper amount of time that you can change your barbell there are options of Clear balls to make them not as BOLD and easily seen. Just as with any other piercings there are ways to “hide” it from the professionals.

Go for it! Who cares what anyone else thinks, If it makes you happy that’s all that matters. I have a full back piece in progress that is all black…IE- you can see it through light colored shirts. I get compliments and negative remarks all the time. I take the compliments and give a F U look to the people that have something negative to say. In the end it is YOUR body do with it how you want.

To answer your question, Scars can be tattooed over. My husband has a scar on his inner left arm. The scar i would say is around 4-5 inches long and was raised, From a surgery to repair a broken bone. He got a tattoo over that scar and it took well and is fully covered up now(can’t even tell there is a scar there). – I do know that some people take to ink differently so this is not to say that yours will take as well as his did.

Hello everyone. Good to know there are forums for everything; I’m definitely glad I found one for tattoos.

Anyhow, I’m a twenty something from Los Angeles looking to start a sleeve. So far my artwork includes a gargoyle on my chest and a some skull/flames artwork on my back. I’m really into fantasy artwork (wizards, dragons) and very excited to start laying it out on my arms.

Some non tattoo info about me: I’m a technician with a medical group who works on computers, networks, and urgent care equipment. I am really into gaming and currently completely indulged by World of Warcraft, though I love my 360 and PS3 (Mass Effect and Heavy Rain are some of my favs, oh, and God of War, incredible series).

No kids, not married, thinking about going back to school this fall.

So, if you’re still awake at this point of my post: Glad to meet you all.

Hope to get some great info, stories, and inspiration from this forum.

Thanks!

FTH orrr FTA? ๐Ÿ™‚ Quit the game in march the time sink is gone! ๐Ÿ™‚
