Gauging is his thing. I mean you can tell he is pretty into body mod, other than just gauging, and who are we to criticize him for that? As a community we pride ourselves on being open minded and non judgemental. And I am not saying that the original poster was being any of those I am just saying.

So long as you follow the same tribal styling throughout you actually have a lot of play with this piece. you said it is small, but the elements of this particular tribal work are easy to manipulate and work with. there is no covering this piece up, as is expected with any kind of tribal work but so long as you stick to the flow and curves of the piece you can work with this base design well. Do some research. In a lot of cultures different bends, curves, and focus shapes mean a lot and can symbolize things like honor courage strength etc. So maybe you can actually morph this into something that means a lot and is a good representation of who you are. It has a lot of potential. It might not seem like it right now because you are not too fond of it at this point but give it some time and some more work and I think it can be something you will really enjoy.

i peeled after my first day with my newest ink and atrted peeling within five of all my others. you are fine. they tell you that two weeks is the average healing time but some can heal in as fast as seven to ten days. it all depends on the size of the piece, the lotion you are using, and just how your body reacts to being tattooed.

If i catch myself staring, which happens a lot, I make it a point to then at least make an attempt at initiating conversation because obviously there was something in that piece that caught my eye. Tattoos are a wonderful way to meet ppl and make friends, or at least I have found that to be true.

I will never flounce around the fact that I am straight edge in order to make myself seem better than anyone else. And I do hope to change your perceptions on what you once knew, because I hate fitting into stereotypes 🙂 For 18 I have gone through a lot in my life, a lot that I hope no one else will ever have to and yet I know that every day they do. That is why I try to be open about things in my life, especially things like being straight edge or the fact that I was a cutter, because sometimes all people need is someone else to talk to. Someone that can relate to them and allow them to, for once in their life, not feel alone. That’s at least what I hope to do.

Wow….for first ink you’ve got balls. This is really nice tribal in my opinion, the use of color in it is really cool since when most people think of tribal they think heavy black. You made a good choice. Go big or go home right? 😉

It is your body so I will never criticize something that you as a person want. Like it has been said already you will need to be careful with the size of the script becasue it will fade, it will distort, and it will need more frequent touch ups. As to the location….pain is pain. Your first tattoo is going to hurt. 99.9% chance of that. But if you want it there, you will endure that pain. Don’t let anyone discourage you from that. But have you had your major growth spurt yet? cuz you could have some stretching issues with the tattoo if you get it there at your age. Text can be beautiful if done right. This is a piece that, so long as it means something to you, don’t let anyone else discourage you from that. Happy ink 🙂

Straight Edge is coming into its own again. It was really big in the nineties then it kind of fell out with the rise in drug use, alcohol, and the ever increasing trend of smoking. As a general principal I know that my tattoos don’t have a common theme to them yet, I have designated my entire left leg to all the random shit I want. But the big pieces I do know for sure that I want have a common theme at least to them. I do not want my whole body to be one big piece because my inspiration for my ink comes from all around me and my influences are ever changing, and I allow my ink to reflect that. Generally I do not get negative feedback on the ink I personally have, I usually get it about tattoos in general and that is usually only when I am at work (I work in a department store that caters to the older generation). Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I respect that, some opinions just irritate me more than others when voiced 😉

My bunnies are on my left hip, you cannot even see them when I have shorts on without me making them visible. And straight edge is at its base form no smoking, drugs, or alcohol. More radical people will prescribe to no promiscuous sex and things like being vegan etc. Yes, I am straight edge. And I’m not trying to be mean with this but I feel that most people who are straight edge are not arrogant in any way. As with all sects of culture there will be those who can distort the image for all those involved, but of the people I know that are straight edge they are some of the most humble people I have ever met. Because they have gone through so much. And just a side thought….I love how the instant you have ink everyone feels that they have the right to give their opinions, no matter what, but if they didnt like anything else about you they probably would never tell you. I always thank people for at least being honest with me though. I would hate for them to tell me they like my ink then turn around and totally bash it.
