Wow.
That is pretty much awesome.
Props!

I can’t, however, believe that with such an awesome sleeve…you have “The Beckham” (as I’m deeming it).

AH, the mistakes we make when we’re young eh?! LOL…..

Modified slightly, so it’s not EXACTLY the same, but it may aswell be the same. 😮

Well, if you buy a painting and hang it on the wall, the artist will usually always have signed it. They claim this right, to own the piece they’ve made. I don’t see anything in that signature to detract from the painting, unless of course the painting is shit… then I know that paintings by the same are probably shit too 😀

I can’t see why it would be any different, really, with a work of art on human canvas. Would it detract from the design? Not at all. But is is you that’s wanting his signature on yourself, or is he asking to include his name on his art?

Thanks for the input Arni,

It’s something I came up with whilst a bit drunk last night, and thought it’d be a nice finishing touch to the sleeve. My tattooist hasnt mentioned anything, and I’ve not seen any of his larger pieces, back/legs/ sleeve etc, with his signature on….

That has to be one of THE most unique and original pieces I’ve ever seen. I’m not skull fan, nor actually a fan of any of the motifs in that sleeve, but it’s fucking awesome none the less!

Looking forward to seeing new pics every thursday for 4 weeks 😉

Thanks!

I did try and avoid the ‘normal’ routes of sleeve inspiration so to speak…..

I knew that I had to keep a theme running throughout the sleeve….

Will be back with updates every Thursday:D

Sleeves normally have a theme running through them, wether they’re half or full versions…..

Dependant on you surname, family crest, then go for pieces that reflect this, to join in with your original piece….

Do a bit of research into peices, artwork, etc, and I’m sure you’ll find something.

This is an awesome piece mate!
I don’t like some of the skulls in the biomech part tho, some just look weird.
The koi thingy is cool as hell! I didn’t believe I’ll ever see an original koi design, and here I am.
An original piece combining few different styles, so I guess it’s 10/10 for the creativity.
Overall looks wicked and sick! Which is awesome, keep us updated on this awesome piece!

Thanks mate, I agree, 1 or 2 of the skulls look a tad cartoon like, rather than a bonefide skull, but, hopefully we’re the only ones who notice them lol!!!:o

The arm looks great so far and kudos for an original koi idea! to me, it lacks so cohesion as an entire piece but hopefully it will pull together as you finish

Aye, it does look like a bunch of lines at the minute, and I tried to keep the ‘ skull theme’ running throughout the whole sleeve….Elbow is yet to be a decided area.

Holy SHIT, a koi I actually like? That says a lot. Great piece dude, love the entire thing. Can’t wait to see it done, def keep us posted.

Thanks Mate, I’m pretty chuffed with it so far, and cannot wait for the anatomy pieces to be done, theres only two bits, forearm to elbow, and bicep portion.

Next sitting is on the 21st June, and then every Wednesday for 3 weeks, hopefully, should be done.

Hello everyone, my name is Chris & I’m currently living in the lovely city of Bristol, UK. From good old Yorkshire originally & boy do I miss it up there! I’m 26 & have been a fan of tattoos for a long time now, but have yet to embrace the ink myself. I feel the time is finally here & have been working on a design that I would like to have on the under side of my right arm. It’s a map of where the planets were (roughly) aligned in relation to the sun when I was born. I have done my research to make sure the positions are accurate & have created a work in progress of what the design may look like, opting for classically recognised symbols for the planets. I’m not the best artist in the world so apologies for that, but what do you guys think of this design & what could be done to improve it/add to it? Many thanks for your feedback.

Oh & here is the link to the design I just uploaded into the photo album on here: http://www.thetattooforum.com/album.php?albumid=3770&pictureid=6963

Cheers,

Chris

If your art is what you want, then I would take your idea/piece to tattooist, one you are happy to use, recomendations, do a bit of research into local and not so local tattoists.

Ask Him/Her to render your piece, as they are normally shit hot at art…LOL

This will no doubt cost you an hour’s work at their given hourly rate, but it’ll be worth it.

They may have ideas/suggestions that you can add to your piece, or things that can be improved.

Let us know how you get on….

do you happen to have any pictures of the color? i know a guy who has a pinkish/red tattoo and the color is not ‘red’ almost like a really bad sunburn color, but do you think that will blend well with the existing color i have now? this would be the 4th time i’ve gone over it, and am starting to worry about scar tissue building up or something like that (first tattoo, so dont know too much about how all that works)

I would suggest you choose a shade that your happy with, there are hundreds of shades of red/pink kicking about…Google Images.:D

I would also speak to your tattoist, as she’ll be far more knowledgeable in coloring pieces time and time again.

as far as the size, and over all design i like it, i just would like to see the edges more crisp and a more constant solid-ability

my tattoo lady said a darker color would fix both of those problems.

Then why not try a more red based pink on your next visit….
