I don’t think it’s THAT bad but yes it has more blowout than you’d expect. Its still a decent piece and will look better when healed.

Us guys get self conscious too. The only way I’ve found to keep weight off and be happy with my looks is regular exercise and good diet. Easier said than done but if you do it regularly you’re likely to keep doing it. And once its habit its pretty easy to continue. Not that you were asking but thought I’d throw my 2c in there.

My leg biomech piece serves as a reminder that keeping fit and active is so desperately important.
I’ve got pretty big legs, I do a lot of miles on the mountain bike which is what it’s all about.
It’s been a tough year though, I left my Wife of 22 Years, had a load of additional stress and long story short is I haven’t been out on the bike for…[Read more] -

Ah well that’s exactly why I bought it, I know a lot of pros and seasoned photographers use the Sony as their compact. I was going to buy a full on DSLR but realised I wouldn’t use it as much because they’re so bulky. I’m a novice though, but I’ll learn as I go. Quite happy with the unit, I’ve been shooting in RAW form and…

Ok here’s some artists who you could talk to in Sydney. I don’t know of anyone who specialises in Biomech, but here’s some with good realism work.
Jin from Kaleidoscope (she’s got some decent looking biomech in her portfolio) Jin O |
Maija from Kaleidoscope tattoo Maija |
Ping Pong – think he’s now at Inner Vision, does great realism. Inner…[Read more]

I bought a Sony RX100 as well, just a couple weeks ago. It’s a great camera, but I haven’t had much time to play around with it so I’ve just been using the auto setting mostly.

When I get home I’ll look through my computer and find some Sydney artists who can pull of that style. For now here’s some good shops, I recommend you browse their websites.
Kaleidoscope
Hunter and Fox
Shanghai Charlie’s
Inner VisionI’ll get back to you with more tonight.

It may be a stupid question, but with regards to the visibility of this tattoo I have to ask: Will this tattoo be covered with a thick brush of hair most of the time, or do you shave your head?

Just give it time and see what it does. There’s nothing you can do to undo what’s done, so there’s no point in spending the next few months agonizing about it. Take care of that tattoo of yours, and in the meantime try to find a better tattoo artist for your inevitable next piece 🙂

What can and can’t be done will only become apparent once it’s all healed and the colors have faded to their final shade.. which can take anywhere from a month to three months. Most of it may become utterly invisible once it’s healed.
Would love to see a pic of the complete piece. What is it?

That is a very interesting point, and one I’ve never considered before. Obviously with biomechanics you’d always be fitter and stronger than “normal” humans, so it really doesn’t make sense to have biomechanics on flabby skin and skinny limbs.

It looks like it’s more or less entirely blown out, but he’s right in that you need to wait at least a full month before you can truly see how it will look.
