Tattoos hurt less today than they did 20 years ago, the machines are better, the needles are better, and the way they are made is better, the styles are better and the artists…for the most part, are better. Depends on your artist, but it won’t be as bad as you think.

I CAN cover it. Your looking at a piece that would cover your shoulder and run onto your back and/or chest, as well as a good part of your arm. My personal suggestion would to be…[Read more]

I’m pretty good at cover-ups but I’ll tell you honestly, unless your looking for a LOT of work and you’re willing to pay a lot for it, you can forget it. What you have is too big, too bold, and too dark. Covering it would be a monumental job.

Yes, that’s a raw nerve. I get alot of people who assume since I go to an art school that I’m rich and uppity and not willing to put in several days hard work. My mum manages apartments in Clifton. Ahhhh…stepped on a raw nerve there did we?
You can get an apprenticeship on a “scholorship” also. Paying is only one way to go, working for free is the other.
your right…who knows what you could become? But I’ll tell you what, if you let me push your buttons so easily over a computer, you’ll never make it through an apprenticeship in a…[Read more]

Back to the idea of apprenticing. i was thinking about this earlier. This thread started with someone saying they were an Art Student.
Did they teach that for free? I wonder…do they pay art students minimum wage?
Hmmmmmmm.
Seems to me everywhere I’ve looked you have to pay some serious money to major in Art. In some cases over…[Read more]

That was a simple answer…and correct for the most part. I use water to clean my needles when switching colors…some of the time. It depends on what I am doing. One of the things you have to understand about tattooing is that it is an ART. Just like painting in a way. The best tattooists don’t just color like a paint by numbers set. they…[Read more]

There is a good deal of work out there…I suppose you could call it a “style” that there is no name for.
I’ve done wording…lettering on people that gives the appearance of letteres sunk into, cut into, burned into, or embossed into the skin. But what do you call it?
Hell, I don’t know.

Honestly, I find that funny. you guys live with pain. You work out until your muscles scream. You beat each other to a bloody pulp, then you get sqeamish over a four hour tattoo? Dude, I’ve tattooed women longer than that. Not just women, but…like, housewives who don’t work, don’t fight, don’t work out. They hang kids off their hip and…[Read more]
