My first and only tatoo up till now is peacock with one feather on my left shoulder blade. I am thinking of adding more feathers as i grow older since i am only 18 now. For this tattoo, i took in my own design and told them to make it look better since I am not a good artist. I just got this tattoo early april, so it’s been around a month.

Like you do a waiter, is what I heard once…so 15-20%

I think I went a bit overboard…
$600 piece… 860
$100 piece… 150

But my artist loves me =]
I’m pretty sure I could go in; ask for ink, and get it done with no up-front cost if I really insisted on it.

Thanks!

Wondering what you guys/gals think? I could care less that people stare at me, but wondering what your thoughts are. Has anyone ever stopped you and asked you about them? Its obvious people have an instinct when someone is looking at them, seem to be getting this alot now at the gym.

Peace.

I usually don’t try to stare, but tattoos just fascinate me.I am a very curious person and when i see someone with a tattoo i just want to know why they got.

With an asymmetrical design…
I would personally go with your original placement idea.

But $100-200 for sure.

BUT!!!!
Remember to tip your artist handsomely…
If you decide to return to the shop, he/she will probably remember your generosity.

How much would you typically tip the artist?

For the placement, I will also take suggestion from the artist.

Thanks,

i think its one of the names for Lord Krishna , we could do with her coming back and telling us 🙂

Yea, Butterfly_Kisses is right, It is another name for Lord Krishna. It says Govind.
I am considering to get my tattoo at Toronto Ink Tattoo Studio since it is close to where I live.I did not have the time or guts to go and see the place but I will probably go after my exams.

If you have any suggestion as to where I should go, please tell me.

Thanks,

Take your artist a printout of the original and let them handle the design. The stencil should not take long given that its a simple tattoo. Tribal black with a drop shadow (for example) shouldnt take much longer than an hour plus set-up and design. Look at spending around $200 for a decent shop. That covers design and tattooing.
A good tattoo is not cheap, and a cheap tattoo is not good.

Thanks,

I have about $300 saved up for it now and i will continue to save money just to be on the save side. I will take original to the artist.

The price probably isn’t too steep, perhaps an hour or two, but for advice I recommend reading Sherav’s blog, especially the first chapters of his ebook. Check them here: http://sherav.wordpress.com/2009/06/page/2/

Thanks, the ebook is very useful!

I personally like these three quotes, t hey go with the picture:

– Pain has never been so brilliant

– This is what I get for wanting more

– And we’re nothing short of invincible
