Hey buttwheat, thanks for saying it looks ok. Appreciate that!
However, since the last pic I posted, the last couple of letters have faded quite a bit after the peeling phase. They don’t look like they belong with the rest of the tattoo. I’m going to wait to do any coverups or anything for a few months and see how I feel about the tattoo then. But after it’s healed I’m going to see the original artist and have him touch up the last few letters so they are the same consistency as the rest of the word 🙂 I’ll just feel better when all the letters are the same consistency and look like they all belong as one word.

Your stuff looks great, dude. Most of it is A LOT better than most of the artists are doing at the shops around town here. I wish you would have done my last piece! I’m sure you would have done a much better job. Keep it up. You’ve got a bright future ahead of you.

I’ve been told SO many different things when it comes to the healing process. My artist told me to wait until it was so dry that it looked like it was cracking to put lotion on it. I had another artist tell me that I needed to keep it from getting dry and looking like it was cracking because that’s what ruined tattoos. I’ve been washing mine with soap and then putting lotion on it about 3-4 times a day. Hopefully that’s not too much. Not sure you can really “ruin” it either way? I’ll be going in for touchups once mine stops peeling and it’s healed…which I’ve been told is about 4-6 weeks?

Yours is looking good, in my opinion. I’ve only had 2 tattoos so far though 🙂

That script is SUPER clean. And the rose is gorgeous. Great work!

Timmy B is phenomenal. Most of the crew at Black 13 is incredible. Consensus so far is that I should give it a while to at least heal completely and then go from there. I’ll probably get the touchups it needs in a couple weeks (the r has almost faded out completely) and then wait a few months and see what I think. Thanks for all the input, guys. Appreciate it.

Thanks Arni. I think you’re right. I think it’s best for me to let it heal up and wait a while and then see how I feel about it. Don’t wanna make any rash decision that leaves me more unsatisfied.

Thanks for the input, Zach. I definitely don’t want to make any rash decisions and make anything worse. I appreciate your opinion, too. I like to hear what outside sources honestly think when they see the piece. I want it to be something I’m proud of. The word holds a lot of meaning for me and I have a great story to go with it (one I’d like to share with others).

Buttwheat–
I’m not sure if I’ll ever be happy with it because I see the imperfections and I know they are there. My main concern is with the blowouts and that it will look much worse over time. I guess I should wait to see what happens.

I live in Nashville. I know Black 13 is a great shop. I think I’ll take it to them and see what they honestly think.

Anyone else have any other suggestions? Should I even try to get it fixed or maybe even covered up with a dove or something?

Thanks, all

That’s all helpful. Thanks for the input, guys. I think I’ll go to a really reputable shop in town and see what they have to say. I think an outline could really help. Or they may have some other ideas.

Thanks for your input. I understand most have imperfections. I just wonder if it looks horrible as is? Or in your honest opinion, does it look ok?

And will the appearance deteriorate over time? Someone told me wrist tattoos “spread.” I’m worried it may not be readable in several years…

Wow. That breaks my heart. I did get it done professionally. What can be done about it now? Can it be fixed?

And will this look worse over time? It’s less than 2 weeks old right now.
