Hi all ๐Ÿ™‚

Quick update;

Tattoo has healed beautifully, nearly all the scabs have fallen off now, i went to bed last night with a very itchy, flaky tattoo and woke up this morning with a RIDICULOUSLY itchy tattoo, it was almost unbearable

So i gave it a gentle wash with some soap, lathering up the soap and very gently giving it a wash, loads of the dried skin came off (felt so good) and then i moisturized it, just patting off any excess moisturizer with a towel

I washed it again at about midday and replaced the moisturizer, now it has a few scabs on but is basically healed totally. No loss of ink anywhere, the colours are vibrant again due to the dead skin coming off and it just looks fantastic. I will take a photo (or rather get my husband to) when he and I are around each other again! He works very long hours in the week and i had a gig tonight so went out with my guitar nearly as soon as he walked through the door!

So I will post pictures on Saturday i imagine but it really is looking fantastic, got a lot of good feedback about it tonight so i am pleased ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for the advice guys, you were so good to have here to speak to when i was worried about it. I have very soft skin so i think i am easy to ink (thats what the artist said anyway)

thank you so much x

hmmm well the worst bit seems to have totally peeled (and the scab was very much moist) and has left a perfect tattoo beneath it. Now i am sort of regretting not leaving the clingfilm on longer. But it was affecting my skin massively so i suppose i just have to hope that it has done the job in the time its been on

I dont think my skin would have appreciated being wrapped in plastic any further, its not good with plastic at the best of times.

I have basically been applying a THIN layer of very natural moisturizer 3 times a day, patting any excess off and trying my hardest not to disturb the scabs…

heres to hoping, it will all be okay x

I think your right, i think i will need to get another artist locally to touch it up for me, it shouldnt be too hard to match the colours?

ah okay, that makes sense and does make me feel better. This is my first colour tattoo so sorry for the novice remarks/questions!

I am looking at it now and there is a bit that has not faired well, it is just between my boobs and its clear that the scab has gone soggy and half peeled off, leaving no ink beneath it. I havent picked it or anything… I think its just the placement of it and the fact that the clingfilm was on for a bit too long.

Will a tattoo shop touch it up for me? There is a really good one round here

Oh such a shame ๐Ÿ™ Right on the breastbone too, hurt like buggery to do there.

well drying it out yesterday worked wonders, it was definitely soggy The ink is all there but i worry that its not as bright as it was when she did it..

I think its the light in my house and i am just being paranoid…

Really pleased the clingfilm has come off, all the scabs have formed properly and its stopped feeling uncomfortable like its not healing (plus the skin around it is lots happier)

i used bepanthan for the first 3 days, just using a really gentle, natural baby moisturizer now, i stole it from my son ๐Ÿ˜‰

thanks for the advice, its certainly feeling a lot better ๐Ÿ™‚

she was a lady ๐Ÿ˜‰

but yeah she said leave the clingfilm on for 5 days ‘to be sure’

but i just dont think its necessary, it feels like a soggy scab now and surely they need to be getting dry!

Thanks for the links, i had a really good look through them last night (but on my other computer so i couldnt respond then)

Unfortunately we live in a tiny sleepy city, there are no hard buggers around tattooing people that would be able to help me talk to him.

I wouldnt condone beating him up, but certainly threatening him with it if he carried on. I am sat in the position of realising just how much risk he has put me and also the rest of my family at. If i have contracted something from him (which is rare, as i said, sleepy town, not quite as dodgy as bigger city perhaps) then it will affect all my future children and that is something i am struggling to contain my cool about.

I think that the likelihood of him listening to a word i have to say is slim to none, as i said, despite asking him again and again, he refused to use gloves and barely washed his hands, kept saying that his mate had a tattoo made from squashed beetles and spit in India and hes fine.

I will send him the links, hope he reads them, but i fear all i can do beyond that is inform people around me that he is doing what he is doing, so that others dont end up in the same position.

It was REALLY sore in certain places, i was suprised actually, perhaps its because there is a fair bit of ‘meat on me bones’ anyway, but i found the areas over the bone were not as bad as the area between my armpit and my neck, that was Really Really sore.

The most painful (still) is the bit that licks over my breastbone – not visible in the photo… Ohhhh it was AGONY

but she only did a bit there so thats fine

I am already planning bits to add to it – a few hummingbirds perhaps ๐Ÿ˜‰

cheers for the support, i am so so pleased with it, the happy place i went to was definitely me a week later with the most awesome tattoo ever ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks all, understandably i am still a bit numb about the death of our baby girl (she was stillborn ๐Ÿ™ so no pain on her part which i am pleased of) I will post photos both of the amazing vine tattoo and the dragonfly that gilbert has been doing ๐Ÿ™‚

Yeah that makes sense, when Gilbert was doing my dragonfly, he was REALLY heavy handed because he is just a beginner, it was his first realistically sized, PROPER tattoo and he went far too deep (so deep it blew out in a number of places quite massively) And i remember feeling okay about it after about 20mins and then after 30mins he said he wanted a break and stopped! It hurt again when he started, so i think with a proper artist who will possibly stop once an hour if at all, i will just have to deal with that first 20mins each time and then the other 40 will be okay ๐Ÿ™‚

My pain threshold is terrible but i respect this artist SO much (so much that i am travelling 40miles up the country to her and doing it in one sitting) that i wont move or flinch or complain.

Its my gift to myself after a terribly hard year ๐Ÿ™‚ Very excited!

Thanks for the support guys, i have some of my grandmothers codine! I think some of that will help me for that first 20min barrier!
