Ok I had another session, it was a horrible spot. We got a lot of color added to the dragon bring him to life a little bit.Big change this session. He along with the entire piece still needs a lot of work, but Its definitely amazing after each session.

I agree with the above poster, but then again the photo isnt really clear either. Id voice your concerns to your artist as well. Hopefully he can bump it up to being more realistic and bright!I like it though, great idea. Does it have any person meaning or representation?

WOW…this is a really amazing piece you’ve got going on!!!

How many more sessions do you think you have left?

Im not really sure at this point. Im just a little over half way id say. The dragon gets a lot of detail in addition to color, so does the tree. The sun set still needs carried over, there are more blossoms, all the water, and it wraps around to the front on both sides. The koi side wasnt even started, the trunk side still needs a lot as well.
I sit 4-5 hours per session. I try to get in at least once a month.

Fridays session, We did some more shading up at the neckline and added some blossoms, Some blossoms arent in the photo as they are wrapping around on my side of rib cage. But every session makes such a major difference at this point. I didnt set up a time for next month yet, but Ill update as I go.

I agree with the poster above,,, psyching yourself out is a big issue.. Ill admit in the beginning when I first started my back I got so worked up making myself scared etc over nothing, at times Id feel like I was gonna pass out. Now its nothing, but its been a year.. I also play on my Ipad, weather its watching sling box, playing words with friends etc. My artist always has loud music and loves to chit chat and that helps as well. But if your artist is quiet, just stay occupied. As much as you can while staying completely still.

Ok these are cell phone pics from right after the session, Its hard to tell what it is, but in the end the swirls and negative space mixed with water will fill in some area, here is where my cover up is beginning, you can see the old tattoo in this photo.

You can see it wrap around here, you can see the faint lines where water ripples and such will be

Update: Thursdays session, seemed to be one of those extremely painful and long making little progress, but that is usually the case when doing some outline and shading. It all needs done and is all progress. Next months (May 4) color session should really show the progress. Thursdays session focused on the dragon and the tree trunk wrap around to my tummy. This also included a cover up. I will get a good pic of the wrap and front, its really peeling now so it looks crappy in pics, high quality cameras make this worse lol..:)

Hmm… The only actually good guitar tattoo I’ve ever seen looks something like this

Do you guys think I should do it like this except with the Gibson guitar instead of the fender? What really matters to me is the realism. I don’t want my tattoo to look like this:

angleofblueguitar2.jpg

The first fender you posted here is amazing.. however you need to decide what you really want. the 2nd is bad, but I get your question. I like the entire guitar but i cant visualize half of one unless you do something around it like a sleeve or something. However depending on your artist, and b/c doing the guitar as a whole would make it smaller, it could make the realness and quality not so great due to putting all the detail into a smaller tattoo.. you need to decide what YOU want then find a GREAT artist..he can then personalize it and make it your own. you start the idea, knowing what you want half or entire guitar it is the artists job to help add to your idea and make it a great piece. I agree the realness is important, changes the entire tattoo. ya dig?

I rescheduled my appt from yesterday till thursday, still a bit tender on that Koi area. He did so much in that area it took a bit longer to heal.. He still wants to work on the Dragon and the sunset next session, so I guess I could have went anyhow, But in either case.. Ill update at on Friday, my session will be 7pm-12a. Im stoked… I cant wait for this dragon (representing my son) to come alive!!
