I’d be honored if I saw my poem tatted on their body but the chances of that are so small it’s ridiculous to think about it. The copyright gives me peace of mind that the words are mine. And not yours. If someone reads my tattoo I can say with all sincerity that “Those words are mine, I got ’em copyrighted.” I was also thinking about having some of my email addresses and Youtube usernames tatted on as they too are original and some of them sound good, IMO. But the thing is you can’t count on Gmail or Hotmail or Ymail to not change their name, and so thus that idea is on the shelf, for now. I got lucky with some phrases as some names represent 1) a Youtube account 2) an email address 3) a domain name. It’s nice when you can nab a unique, good sounding name cause it’s like a game in that you’re beating millions of other people. It’s even better when you can sink that good sounding, two or three word username into an email address, Youtube account and a domain name. But ya gotta be lucky. And ya gotta have a knack for creating unique, original phrases – or the time and energy to check on a favorite cliche’ that just popped into your head. You need those attributes cause you’re competing against people from all around the world. So what would i do in the event I saw my words tatted on a persons body or plastered on a billboard or written in a book or shown in a movie? I’d try and ascertain their financial status and if they were well to do (rich, affluent) I’d go after them in court to try and win a judgement against them. If they’re rich and well to do I’d ask them to put some money in my Paypal account because the words and the message/idea behind the words are mine and I’ve got a copyright to prove it. And if the rich rock and roller denied that request I’d drag them into a court of law to try and have them penalized and to get what’$ mine.

Hi
Copyrighting your slogan is actually very simple in most countries especially in Europe and USA and is simple form and a fee to do so.

You’re right and I agree. Fact is
1) I thought it would cost thousands of dollars to copyright it. Fact is it only costs about 60 bucks in the U.S.
2) The wait time is about 90 days to receive a copyright
3) I learned the aforementioned details after I posted this thread starter
4) Now that I realize it’s dirt cheap, of course I’ll copyright my work, since it’s easy and can be done online at the U.S. Copyrights website
5) Made a mistake when I posted this, it’s not a slogan, it’s a short, 16 word poem that will go on my gravestone

Wondering what you guys/gals think? I could care less that people stare at me, but wondering what your thoughts are. Has anyone ever stopped you and asked you about them? Its obvious people have an instinct when someone is looking at them, seem to be getting this alot now at the gym.

For the same reason a person wears a descriptive shirt with say like a slogan or image on it – it’s a message – and the viewer is reading it, digesting it, etc, etc. That’s what I do. If you’re shirt has a message on it then there’s a chance I’ll take time to read that message.

If you aren’t into either get one of those manscaping devices that just thins out your hair.

That description is a little general other than a razor and a punk rock band what exactly is a manscape device that thins out hair?

LOL, ok. So my artist was preparing my arm for more ink work, and hes like “dude you got hairy ass arms!” He thinks tattoos look better without all that hair, which I agree. He said he’ll shave his arms a bit once in awhile in the shower. He also said anther artist there has waxed his arms before. Anyone else do it?

Currently I don’t have any tattoos but I used to shave my hair off my back and everywhere else but that was back when I was super concerned about body image so much so that I was a gym rat for many years including one year where I used steroids cause I didn’t have confidence and because I had / have muscle dysmorphia which is reverse anorexia. A famous trainer who trained movies stars at his gym once said that without naming names almost all his famous clients have low self esteem and a bad image of their body and if they didn’t he’d be out of business that’s what he said. I’ve made love with women sans hair and with hair and have found that many women don’t give a rats ass about body hair on a man especially hot foreign women from Mexico, Italy, etc, I live in San Diego near the beach where there are tourists aplenty. When I was a hardened gym rat of course I heard the saying ‘It’s a persons personality that counts most’ but that didn’t really sink in until I got older and now my inner game is stronger, stronger than my physicality come to think of it though I’m still strong on the outside. The amount of weight that I could bench press used to mean the world to me now it means nothing which for me is a fantastic accomplishment for someone who grew up thinking negatively about their body.

Besides riding gear add approximately

>500 USD / 420 GBP for not one but two rider safety courses (two classes is protocol for myself or a loved one, plan it as if you’re going away to fight a war or engage in a battle to the death)
>200 USD / 130 GBP for a couple of good books on safe riding that have garnered many good user reviews at Amazon and for one DVD tutorial on the same subject

In the states the MSF offers rider safety courses as does Harley Davidson lets just hope the HD school doesn’t try and ram their product down a students throat which in my mind would be a distraction and a conflict of interest to a serious student and a play by big business prioritizing profit, don’t care if it is HD.

I would tell a n00b to take not one but several rider safety courses before they think about hitting the street. One safety course is not enough when talking rider safety. For something like this you want to engage ‘layered learning’ as we’re talking a life and death issue. And then when you get a little experience on the street you should go to a racers school. That’s right, take your Harley with extended forks and ape hanger bars and go to a school that teaches racers how to be a better racer. A school like that will be held at a race course. And before you hit the street a prospective street rider has to know what the number one contributing factor that causes a rider to crash. They need to know the answer to that question or they need to research it and if they don’t know the answer then they shouldn’t be on the street. And you should spend your time in Cyberspace with other like minded riders who discuss safety, talk safety, analyze safety and share their experiences because once you start to ride on the street you automatically assume that you’re taking a much greater risk in life, a risk that can or will kill you or seriously injure you, so it would behoove a n00b to pretend their a parent and do what any decent parent would want their son or daughter to do should their child decide to take up street riding. I’ll post two links to a couple of forums where you’ll find excellent info that might prevent a new rider from getting killed or seriously hurt, forums where they talk safety and emphasize safety, especially link #1. Bookmark ’em to your favorite web browser (especially link #1, worth repeating as that site is geared 100% towards safety talk). This is not spam: I’m more interested in preventing a fellow rider from going down and getting hurt or killed AND I want to read what other experienced riders have to write about safety, wisdom that’ll keep me alive and injury free.
Now where are you at this point in your riding career ArniVidar, did you take the leap and are you riding in the street here in April 2010? How’s it going out there? And have you gone down yet if so, what happened? How’s your experience been? I bet your first time out on the street was a little like the first time you had sex: one part confusing, one part exhilerating, all of it a MAJOR head rush.
