my first tattoo and i picked a big one! lines on first sitting took 5.5 hours. the shading 3 weeks later took about 4 hours. all done with the black and gray. still deciding if i want a background(red moon) or color(red dragon). its still healing so i will have time to think about it.

Holy crap you went big for your first tat! It looks cool, It’s nice to see a fantasy based dragon as opposed to a japanese dragon. Looks nice!

The only thing that I think needs improvement is the head. The way that this tat sits on your body the head is closer to the viewer than the rest of the body but the head is actually smaller. I would have liked to seen a little more perspective here. When you go back in to talk about the background you might want to bring that up to see if there is something your artist can do with that.

Other than that it looks really good!

thank you all!
the artist and i are still tossing around ideas for the background but a red moon is top of the list so far. i will update whenever that happens. i still have 3 more weeks minimum for healing.

Waiting for it to heal before you get inked again sucks. I just want ’em completely done, one time. It doesn’t happen like that (at least not what I have) so I have to wait like everyone else and it sucks. Sucks big hairy balls.

Very nice Western (as opposed to Asian) stlye dragon. The perspective is fine imo. Very solid b&G work. With color in the dragon, that will really pop. Huge first ink, but worth it!

I really like how the artist made the wing transparent and the look of seeing through it. very cool piece, especially for a first tatt.
