just being honest, her work is not impressive. compare her work with the artists i listed and there is a big gap between them. but if you like it, i guess thats all that matters. good luck and please post the progess!

edit: i cant believe i left out one of the best from aus, chris nieves! and mick squires!

I guess it’s a trust thing with Kate. But having thought on it, maybe it’s time to branch out a bit. I’ve looked up the names you dropped, all of them are a fair distance from me, though Mick squires is the closest. Sam Clark is awesome but his contact details aren’t valid and he’s no longer based in Sydney 🙁 can you recommend an artist in Sydney? I can find reviews for whole studios but not the artists themselves. I’m looking at the illustrated man, kaleidoscope, the steel lotus and inner vision studio but I’ve never heard of the artists there (though that doesn’t mean a great deal lol) I figure if I can get one in Sydney I can put the flight $ into the ink instead

just curious, who is your artist? do you have a link to their portfolio?

Kate Brown. I think there’s a rather dated website if you google casino tattoo NSW, or she’s on facebook.

You cant email her your idea and hav her draw it up?

I could, but I’d rather find someone whos ‘specialty’ is new school style. She’s good don’t get me wrong, but she specializes in realistic/black and white. She’ll be able to tattoo a new school design no worries but I want that expertise in the style to get the design if you know what I mean.

Great pics. I like the butterflies What is the tramp stamp(for lack of a better name)one?
No offense but what is with all the hours stuff?

Thanks 🙂 the butterflies get A LOT of comments. haha tramp stamp, yeah its hard to not say it these days most everyone knows where your talking about that way. Mine is actually the first tattoo I ever got, it’s my eldest sons name and d.o.b in big old English style writing.

The hours, I dunno. I guess I keep track so I keep track of the $ that went into each one and then overall.

It’s better to research an artist you like in your area and take your idea to them to have them sketch it up instead of asking random people in a forum. Lucky for you you have great choices in artists in Australia. Graham Moore, sam clark, Fabian de galliande come to mind. Also if you don’t mind traveling to new Zealand, Erin chance is one of my favorite female artists.

Unfortunately I cant, I have 1 artist who’s done 80% of my work, but she’s 1200km away. She’s happy to do my sleeve as I’ll be travelling up there for a couple of days just for the ink, but I wont be there long enough for her to design my tattoo. I need to find someone who can draw to get the design done and then take it up with me when I see her. Hence the random post on a random forum for a random person to help lol

I have no idea how to post pics 😮 can anyone explain?

Usual dynamics on forums, the b*tchy, clicky cr@p that happens on most forums sadly. Where if you disagree with one of the ‘top dogs’ your socially outcast. I’ve left several for that reason, I was even threatened once because I prefer Martin bows over Mathews…but anyway. Fingers crossed y’all are sane/r hehe

Woooo! Found how to post pics, I have a profile album up of most of my tattoos. There are a few missing, will get them up once I can be bothered taking pics 😉
