i did reply on your other post regarding images for your sleeve 😉

the first painting would not really make a good tattoo,its too busy and there aint much definituin between the parts within it..
the second one would be ok as it aint hard to make a good artistic interpretaton of it as a tattoo, although i would suggest loosing the background.

his best way is to get a portfolio together of his artwork (not tattoos done in a bedroom or a kitchen)
make sure all his drawings and paintings look exceptionally well finished.

i have a funny feeling that this is his first piece he has done and not the first piece he has recieved…..

basically it is a very badly done piece, the lines are wobbly, the shading is very scratchy and the fill is patchy. if this was done by another person then i would recommend that you never go back to them except to break his fingers!!
