Wasn’t David beckham’s tattoo artist the one who misspelled “Victoria” in Sanskrit on one of Becks’ tatts? Hardly a good advertisement…

Sanskrit uses Devanagari Script (The Script of City of Gods) to write letters.
It is a phonetic script i.e. the names are written as they are actually spoken.
If David Beckham likes to pronounce it whik-to-ri-aa i.e. the correctly written tattoo for him.
If somebody pronounces it differently, it will be written differently.

I want it to say this in Hindi:
Lead me from the unreal to the Real
Lead me from the darkness to the Light
Lead me from the temporary to the Eternal

It is a mantra. That isn’t lame or disrespectful is it?
I really like the meaning, so it isn’t really meaningless…

I think I want it on the side of my waste or hips and kind of small (but not too small). Any ideas?
And to the people who are against tattoos, don’t try to talk me out of getting a tattoo. The question is not “Should I get a tattoo?” it is “Should I get this one?”
I haven’t decided whether or not I want it in Hindi or not. I think tattoos in different languages are becoming a cliche.

The original mantra is in Sanskrit & not in Hindi.

Hey all,

Does anyone have recommendations for artists in the SF Bay Area who do good Sanskrit tattoos? I want to get the Sanskrit word स्मृति done on my wrist.

Cheers,
Michael

It means “Memory” in Sanskrit.
