Welcome to the site. You want it on the sides of your fingers right? Always would have to go on one side and forever on the other unless you have monster fingers. If you’re having trouble just find a tattooer/shop you like and take the idea to them and if they are a true tattooer they will be able to walk you throw it for some images. I’m thinking Traditional represents this but thats my mind……..

If you like it and believe you will continue to like it goto a good tattooer so it last and there is your meaning! Some tattoos and placement do have meanings but much of this has been lost with the latest increase in popularity in tattoos so you should be alright.

Look for a traditional tattooer. Karl Hedgepath @ jinxproof in DC and Beau Brady in NYC are the first that come to mind but I could go on for days on good east coast traditional tattooers. So how about some cities you’re considering traveling to or are near?

From this photo it doesn’t look very good as you have heard. So with that in mind before you go any further do some research on tattooers/shops you like and then narrow it down to one and ask them what they can do with it..maybe a coverup with a new rib piece or ???? As it is just an outline it should be easier but it will need to be a big piece obviously.

That will totally work but also if you goto a really good artist that can do good small tattoos you can do simple small filler like straight razors, crosses, coffins, and other things that are simple but “cool” to throw in the mix.

Roses or script are classics and don’t think one can go wrong with either if done right. Tattooers like Scott Sylvia, Juan Puente, Luke Wessman, Tim Hendricks, Nick Colella, and Freddy Corbin I think do some of the best!

Yeah knowing more about what you wish (“genres”) will be more helpful. As for drawing an image…once you find some references you like go to a tattooer you like and want to do it and have them do it as you will be much much more satisfied!

Script on collarbones look good but do some badass “original” script drawn to this tattoo/tattooer style not pulled from a book. Pick one tattooer who does script or whatever “font” you choose that you love and have them draw it up and tattoo it in!

If you are going to do this go for a big flat piece of skin (back, front, thigh) and don’t turn away from an expensive tattoo as something like this will need to be done big and takes time which equates to $$$$.

I love well executed script (which there are fewer out there than people see) but it is getting played out but do as you do. You have some really good tattooers in Texas that could execute either, text or image. Dancing brings all sorts of images to my head so maybe dance that through your creativity and see what comes forth. Where in Texas are you?

Just do a walk-in and if the tattooer you originally want is there get at it or try a new one! One of the most fun parts of getting lots of tattoos is going to different tattooers and tattoo shops.
