Hi
Yes you could have the main image within the fan and then always add background to the fan itself.
I have seen some done with rising/setting suns being held by a geisha or demon, floating in clouds or the best one I saw was the fan was actually shaped to form the wings of a giant butterfly.
That was ultra feminine with a lot of flowers and…[Read more]

Hi
You can always get the a trad water scene with the lillies floating on the water and cherry tree with falling blossoms done as the image spreading across the open fan.
These make great tattoos.

Hi and welcome
My first tattoo was at 26 and I had spent ages sizing up tattoo studios and decided to get it done by Russ of Kaleidescope Tattoos in Leeds.
Needless to say he is one huge hairy biker sorta artist who don’t take any shot from clients (it is a rough part of town).
I remember walking in and asking how much for a custom piece – he…[Read more]

Hi
I had a good look through my research and reference books on military art and tattoos.
The most popular emblem/tattoo is often the eagle and that is the most common form of military tattoo usually incorporated with a flag of the USA.
Following that is regimental tattoos the specialist security forces tend to have a lot of bird emblems such…[Read more]

Hi
Mainly you have to be ultra careful hands and fingernails are clean so not to cross infect the tattoo.
Hopefully the skin will peel away and leave you with a tattoo I was just preparing you for a worst case scenario that I have seen (quite a few times).
Do not pick at it as you will get an infection.

Hi Vishnu
Whilst I have seen silver skin before which is usually a thin layer that looks like a solid case of pigment reaction.
What sort of ink did that artist use? Something with lead chromate??
My advice is keep that well clean and moisturise it very carefully.
The skin will eventually peel off but it is likely to take all the ink with it…[Read more]

replied to the topic Covering Tattoos…How easily can it be done?! in the forum General Tattoo Discussion 16 years, 6 months ago
Hi
We would really need a picture in order to help as you may need some lasering it really depends on the condition and darkness of the tattoo.
Also it depends on what sort of lillies you want as if they are deep floral colour you may get away with a cover up.

Hi
For the sake of argument :p
I think people are getting a bit too emotionally involved in the business side (not that certain points are not valid I am just tossing in the otherside of the argument for balance).
I own the only burger place in town lets call it ‘Sludgepackers’. (Based on the fact that food poisoning can kill)
Sludgepackers…[Read more]

Well both are correct it is a language techinicality the hebrew is Tehilim, which means praises collectively.
Psalm in english means to praise.
Psalms is praises (plural)
If you are having one psalm done which does not extend into another I would say use Psalm (singular).
If the psalm is part of a collective eg end of one and start of t…[Read more]

Hi Riderd
That piece is an easy 20 hours to get it right. The outline could be done in 6-8 hours no prob (my back piece was done in 6 from a predrawn stencil) but the time is consumed in fine detail and colouring or shading.
You simply cannot rush something like that (well you can but end up with shit ink).
I would say that for something like…[Read more]

Hi Cathy
It is a reasonably simply job – you need an artist to add some well placed white highlights along the edges and through the clouds to give them a bit more a ‘fluffy’ look.
I would also possibly reline the dragon in black so it looks bolder and have a trail of white leading off it like rising mist.
It is a very nice piece.
