They do it with a needle.<br />

A 5mm hole should be fine to heal up when you want it to.<br />
Dont force the stretching too much. I did that whilst stretching from 6mm to 8mm (I think) and it bled quite a bit and stung a whole lot.<br />

Ive seen someone getting a memorial tattoo for his mate and he asked the tattoo artist if he can put a bit of his mates ashes in the ink and there was no problem with it.<br />
I think yeah blood poisioning would be a problem.<br />
Well done for coming up with the idea though, if it did work it would bring the tattoo a new level!</p>
