Don’t worry about how far away she is or how fast she can do it, just figure out how to save up the extra time and money. It’ll definitely be worth it in the long run. Also, she may do guest spots and/or conventions closer to you, which could make it slightly easier. Get in touch with her and see what you can figure out!

Everything about this post is horrifying, starting with in-mall tattoo shop. For the love of all that is holy, do NOT.

1. They not only ask for ID, they make a copy of it. There are also legal documents to sign.
2. Laws and punishments vary from state to state, but it’s at least identification fraud and would be an open and shut case.
3. See number one.

“Your friends” need to smarten up a lot. Tattoos are permanent and this sounds like an immature, uneducated decision that will end with regret.

The tattoo already has meaning because of your justification for getting it, so don’t worry about trying to find a piece that has additional symbolism or representation shoved in. Just think of something that you like or find aesthetically pleasing and find an experienced, talented artist to turn it into a permanent piece of art for you.

I thought you were referring to the mouth below. So it’s either fine or riddled with vaginas.

I love the little bit of red in the eyes.

New York is supposed to be getting hammered with snow, so I hope you’re staying warm.

I love seeing progress pics, and what a great final product! Are you planning on getting a dragon piece from Tristen Zhang as well?

I don’t think there’s any tattoos that have one set meaning. To my knowledge, spider webs are commonly used to represent the passing of time (specifically in jail) and frailty/delicacy (specifically in nature). Those are for tattoos OF spider webs though, I’m unsure about tattoos that include them like your example.

There’s not a whole lot that can be done with a big, black tattoo other than laser treatments. And researching future artists a lot harder.

If you’ve already got an appointment for a piece that big, do you really want opinions or are you just looking for confirmation?

I don’t know much about Japanese style either, but I agree with BW. But maybe some of the quality is lost in instagram photos.

I’ve been using chrome. It doesn’t crash, but it’s definitely been slower.

Ironically, it’s much faster whenever I use it on my phone. Which may be a coincidence, but I don’t know enough about the mechanics behind websites to say so for certain.

It’s my first time with both Erick and the shop, which is why I wanted to be sure it wouldn’t be perceived in a negative light. It could definitely be a dynamite piece, especially because I would give full artistic freedom. I just don’t want to come across as, “you’re cool and all, but this other artist..”
