Actually, being as he gave me the REAL push mower, and being as he owned a mower shop….and being that he WAS Old School- he’d slap me if I tattooed hes name on me, and who the hell wants to remember the day he died / ie- left me. Morbid.
It’s this kinda comment stuff, that convinces me not enough people DRAW and too many people have opinions.

Agreed. Not bad but lighten up on the lips and make them sexy. I think a simple fix is generally to draw the TOP portion of the lip , then add the bottom in a simple small “smile” to connect to the top. DOn’t overthink drawing women, simple clean lines = sexier in most cases. Same with babies. Less lines equal cuter, my college teacher called it the dirty baby/lad¥y syndrome, never overshadow or overdraw those two subjects.

I agree, I was expecting worse. The filling of the skin areas, in the cross and Circles behind it would help for sure. Adding some greys and highlights, and yes – a reooutline, perhaps with a larger liner for the Outside of the cross.
Mix up the sizes and go for a HEAVY and Aged Celtic Cross look. You could then add more celtic linework around it, look into some of the Boondock Saints stuff people have gotten. Lot’s of good idea’s .

I’m designing a sleeve for a pal combining Wolverine, Cthulu, Watchmen and Spidey of The dead. My thought process is adding word bubbles , swirls, and things that are elements of all . The simple fact so much of cartoons or comics have large balck filler elements leaves the sky open. You may want to look at how seperate tattoo’s done of others are combined. I’m in the same boat, currently doing little pieces on my right leg, at the sock level. I’m now beginnning to think beyond just small works, and how they will combine visually down the road. Course, that the fun part. Try looking at some rock stars arms too. Rob Zombie is a good example , for cartoony arm/leg fill work.

A lot of guys or gals wont do them, cuz they wear. I have one on my palm of a D , and it bled out within 3 months. Barely there, so I imagine it would be the same.

Awesome read, please update it too. I’m apprenticing myself, for the SECOND time . Long story, perhaps I’ll write it. I’m beat after a long day at the shop. But congrats , loved it.
