Correct. It’ll look like hell with all that inked skin flaking off, and the shiny-skin phase is almost as bad, but at least what ink is at the permanent level will stay there.

The danger is opening up spots to that level and either pulling out the skin, ink & scab or making it so such will happen later.

Slap-happiness is the order of the day for dealing with the itching.

I would generally recommend that you speak to your shop/artist about some kind of handout explaining this. If you have this question, then so will others. That aside…

This is normal. One week after a tattoo is about the worst time, with the upper layer of skin peeling much like after a bad sunburn. It will slowly get better over the next week or so, slowing in it’s improvement but continuing to ‘cook’ for up to three months.

What you should do now is keep it moisturized, but not to excess. Make the tattooed skin feel like the surrounding; no more as you can get a rash from too much lotion. If it itches, do not scratch the tattoo. You can slap it, and for most people that’s quite sufficient.

If you lived here in my home town, I probably couldn’t pick you out of the crowd. It’s a university town, and the town itself is hardly a suit & tie kind of place. I do live where I do for a reason…

People look at tattoos & piercings for reasons similar to why they used to look at long hair, t-shirts, women in pants, etc. Don’t worry about those who have a problem. They’ll be dead, one way or another, soon enough.

Side note: your 2nd & 3rd picture in your 360 album are the same. I assume you have more ink that the one picture. A neck tattoo doesn’t quite count as a “lot”. 🙂

Well, not for getting them done, but my gf has used both of these sites for getting henna paste and design booklets.
