I got a new tattoo on my thigh five days ago. The skin has been flaking and forming scabs as normal, however a large chunk of skin fell off very suddenly in the shower. This left a hanging layer of skin which came off quite painfully.
The tattoo in this area now looks notably paler than the rest of it, and looks and feels paper-thin; thinner even than a perfectly healed tattoo which I have had for three years. It hasn’t got any visible holes, patches or dips in the colour, but I worry that this incident has caused me to lose the permanent ink. The rest of the tattoo still feels bumpy and raised, which is what I am used to at this stage.
Should I see my artist and get it touched up, or is it fine?
