My daughter had her tatto done this morning. I was wondering if straight vitamin e is okay to put on it after washing. I have the vitamin e gel pills that I punture a small hole into with a needle This way I don’t have to worry about any other ingredients ruining the tattoo. I also heard that if the artist covers it in plastic wrap, it should be removed within a couple of hours. I told my daughter just to leave it uncovered with the vitamin e oil on while at home to let the air at it. Was this the right advice?

What was her artist’s recommendations for aftercare? I have never heard of using vitamin e, just aquaphor or other similar lubrication.

Me either. Antibacterial soap three times a day, unscented lotion. Forget the Vit E, IMHO

Vitamin E can be very beneficial to the skin…and promotes healing, generally.
That being said, I haven’t personally tried it as an after-care method.

If she isn’t prone to break-outs and doesn’t have a negative reaction to it; I’d say go for it.
