Hello friends,

I have a tattoo on my chest which was totally screwed up by an artist back in my country India who actually has done my first tattoo on my fore arm pretty good.

I am joining the British Royal Army soon, and I was told by the recruiting officers to put down some weight to maintain the BMI balance.so i am on a heavy workout regime.

The thing is today I was at the Army barracks and the captain told me there is a strict Policy for “NO OFFENSIVE” tattoos and he asked me if I had any.I don’t have any offensive tattoo but the one on my chest in just a simple writing, which I don’t like and also has got faded, but which I am thinking my fellow lads might make fun of me for getting that tattoo.

I want that tattoo to be covered up with ONLY a christian religious tattoo,I prefer chrisitan holy cross (nothing gothic) with hebrew scripts of the first of 10 commandments or preferably wings with cross covering my entire chest region.

my skin is very much sensitive and i frequently have rashes on my chest region, even when i had the previous tattoo, the next day i got a heavy rash near the tattoo region.I have my recruitment within a month or less than that,I have to get it asap.

Now the main thing is,since I am on heavy training will it give me any post tattoo effects like any problems during the recovery of the tattoo.I do heavy bench press which concentrate on the chest muscular region.

And about Valerie in London,I was told by a friend that she is very good with tattoos but also a very busy person. Will she design a tattoo or just do what we take to her ?

Please guide me thanks

You mean Valerie Vargas? If so my fella has a half sleeve by her when she was working in Sheffield….exceptional. Her fella Stu Robson did my back ๐Ÿ˜€ *smug* Val is an artist so would probably be happy to design you something if you take her a concept. Take the quotes and reference image and I’m sure she’d cook you something up. I’m not sure on her waiting times but you could be looking at over a months wait for a bigger piece.

How big is the piece you want to cover?

As for the rash…I don’t know how severe your reaction was. Redness and the area being really tender and totally normal and will always happen on somewhere as sensitive as your chest.

As for the work out; you shouldn’t work out for a few days after. Sweat stings raw skin like mad and you don’t want to aggravate the area or it’ll take longer to heal. If your muscle mass increases steadily you shouldn’t get any stretching of the tattoo any rapid growth/shrinking in your size may distort your tattoo.

Hope that helps a bit ๐Ÿ™‚

Valerie Vargas is a great tattoo artist but from what I understand she is very hard to book due to her busy schedule. Good luck.

Waiting list for valerie vargas is more than a year,I am just going down to get an opinion for my tattoo.I am desperate and have to get it covered asap.I might get it done with anyone else in that studio.

This is the tattoo I want to get covered. The region in red with an X mark is where I get lot of rash and sensitive area.

I want to get this covered initially with the 1st commandment in hebrew script.I am not sure whether it can cover the entire region ๐Ÿ™

1_commandment.gif

Is there any artist whose a specialist in scripts or hebrew scripts. OR I would prefer a tattoo removal any day.How much does a tattoo removal process would cost,I can resist the pain

P.S: will the tatto artist reject me in the UK if I have body hair ? I have chest hair, but I do trim it often.I don’t want to look like a FOB at the studio and also I don’t want any one to offend me because my race. It’s just not in my hands to control the body hair,I took all measures,I got waxed yet i get it and I can’t get my upper body waxed in a short notice,as after waxing i get lot of rash ๐Ÿ™

Tattoo removal, no matter which method you choose, takes months. Laser is the most expensive and sometimes the most effective but you would need several thousand dollars/pounds to take off a tat that size. Also, it requires several treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart (for healing). You can try some DIY solutions like TCA. TCA is an acid that you dilute with water and spread over the design carefully. Leave it on 2-3 minutes and then wash off. A scab will form and you have to wait for it to heal and then do it again and again, so you are looking at many months with this method too (although it is much cheaper than laser). You can probably buy TCA in a chemists or building supply shop but you must patch test it first – after diluting – to see how sensitive your skin is.

For removal remember the two rules: you need time and you need to remember there are no guarantees.

A cover up is a good idea here but again, will cost money and you have the healing time to consider.
