I don’t have a back piece yet, but it is in my plans. I have a memorial tattoo planned in the not too distant future. I may only be able to see it in a photograph or in the mirror, but the knowing and the feeling that it is part of me will give me great satisfaction. It also just adds to the general look I want for myself. Plus, for me, there is something quite spiritual about a tattoo. If I had my way and my husband would allow it, I would be covered with tattoos that mean something to me or make me happy in some way. The back is a great canvas with infinite possibilities of magnificent art! Besides, others can enjoy the art even if you can’t see it all the time! I don’t recommend getting a tattoo anywhere on your body you are not 100% satisfied with. 🙂

As others have said, the back is the biggest, smoothest piece of canvas on the body, so mine will hopefully have a very large fantasy scene on it, taking up the entire back from neck to arms and ass. No, I won’t see it without a mirror or pictures, but the scene can’t fit anywhere else 🙂

Well thanks to everyone for the posts I’m starting to understand the point of the big canvas the back is.

I also really like to idea of taking a picture of your back and hanging it on a wall, it’s awesome 😀
