Im in the process of putting together some ideas for a Japanese Half Sleeve, and was wondering if anyone knew anything about Etiquette. What im looking into is a dragon(Of course) coming up the arm and coming over the pec muscle. I would like to make it as traditional as possible (Using a machine of course). But my question is what do I need to stay away from.? I would like to have a background but I know it cant be waves. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi james, welcome to the forums. You should definetly stay away from anything that will give you explosive diarrhea. As far as the background, traditionally it would be wind bars and clouds. There are also flowers added to keep the dragon in a calm state, usually cherry blossoms. Colors for the dragon its self are usually red, green, blue, or black. I’m probably missing a color, but each color has its own meaning. That’s just the cliff notes of the dragon. Hope this helps a little. Good luck.
