Just thought I could start a thread for those of us that enjoy watching grown men beat the living shit outta each other. I’ve been a fan since almost the begining and have some very stong opinions of fighters, promotions, rules, and pretty much anything associated with MMA. If your new to the sport, ask any questions here. If your a long time fan, debate with me the usefulness of the foot stomp or interpretation of the 12 to 6 elbow.

With that said, lets get it rolling.

Let us know who your favorites are and we’ll go from there.

Mine:
Nate Marquardt
Keith Jardine
Spencer Fisher
Leonard Garcia
Allister Overeem

I lift weights with an MMA guy. He pretty much dominates the local super-heavy weight circuits. I’ve no idea why he isn’t going for the UFC, or one of the bigger promotions, considering he has 3 championship belts. His name is Jim “The Vanilla Gorilla” Davis.

Awful tattoos though. Of course, it seems to me that these MMA guys are often heavily tattooed by half-blind dwarfs on amphetamines. Just don’t get drunk at an event and tell them that. Does not end well. Does not end well at all.

Love. Peace. Metallica.

“Legionarius” = Alessio Sakara This guy is very fun to watch fight, always brings it. He has a very cool full chest piece with a ton of other black work on his sleeves. Check this out:

Frank Mir is always a tough competitor, but his striking needs some work. He seems to have a hard time with the bigger heavys.

If you like Sakara, then you must have seen his fight againt James Irvin. Irvin cut to 185 and it killed him. He looked like a skeleton at weigh ins. Sakara busted him up good. Irvins KO of Terry Martin with a flying knee to the head is one of my favorite highlite reel ko’s ever.

I meet Mike Brown at a local fight here in Buffalo, he was just wandering the floor unnoticed and I started a convo with him. Real down to earth guy very humble.

I think sooner or later Sakara and Marquardt will meet in the octogon and that will be an awsome battle.

Who do you want in the Rampage/Rashad fight? Rashad is local guy from Buffalo so I gotta take my boy.
Evans KO 1st round.

UFC and most of the bigger promotion don’t sanction Super-Heavys. Wheres your buddys weight at? I have always wanted the UFC (and others) to add a Super-Heavy Weight Division. The size difference between some of the heavys is crazy. When the UFC first started they had no divisions (and very few rules) which made for some pretty cool matches. Royce Gracie beat alot of guys that had alot of weight on him Kimo, Ken Shamrock and a bunch of others.

To be frank, I’ve only got a rough idea of his weight. He’s like 6’6 or so, and something like 340, and let me tell you, the way the dude prances around the locker room without his shirt on, it’s obvious he ain’t got too much fat on him. Still, that explains why he’s trying to slim down so much.

Anyone have a prediction for this weekends fight between Chuck Liddell and Rick Franklin. Chuck is one of my favs, but he has only won 1 of his last 5 fights. My money is on Franklin, but you never count Chuck out.
