Ok guys,

I only recently stumbled upon this site, so I signed up and here’s my first request

My wife and I just had a baby boy last week and all through the pregnancy I was toying with getting a tattoo when he was born. I would like something cool/origional with lots of bright colors. It would need to have ‘Evan Scott’ (maybe his d.o.b 12/03/10) and possibly a baby incorporated in the design. My drawing skills are non-existant so this is where I need help please! I’m looking to cover my upper arm(shoulder to elbow crease)

I tought the baby could be in this style:

My idea was something like the following but with a sick graffitti of his name on the wall and instead of a robot have a baby flinging paints at the wall.

but I am open to any suggestions/designs …..

I currently have 3 smallish tattoos, but there is very little color in these, I really want a bright piece this time

First:

Second(with the little fellow):

Many thanks for looking and considering my request!

Had a chat with the tattoo artist today, he is exited about what I have in mind(I think they like to vary from the repetitiveness of the pre-designed books on the wall). he thinks that all of the things I want in, where I want them will work really well. there will be a section of graffiti in the tattoo and he did say it wasnt his forte, would it be wrong of me to ask whether one of the other lads is better at the graffiti to that section?

It will take atleast 2 full days to complete(thats if I can sit for a full day), between sketching, final drawing, outlining and colouring in, looking @ €800 – €1000

Do not be affraid to ask him if he knows of someone else who is a great artist and more into those sorts of tattoos. You should want the best available for your ink, and he should respect and understand thatl

I think since your artist told you right away that graffiti is not his strong suit it would be perfectly fine to ask him if he could recommend a colleague who specialises in that.

After all, it is going to be on your body forever and as a tribute to your son Im sure you really want the best work.

Oh and by the way I really like the idea of having the baby fling the colours at the wall 😉

most large tattoos are done 3 , 4 or 5 hours a time . its not really a good idea to sit for a tattoo all day .
i personally can only sit for 3 and a half before i start to get plasma leaking out the tattoo .
many artist like to stop then otherwise the ink could stop taking . .

plan your tattoo some more , find and artist that is known for graffiti / street art style and then get it done in 3 -4 hour sessions every 2 weeks  you dont want to rush a big piece

sorry, should clarify

he would probably need 1-2 hours to sketch/final render the design and tattoo for the remainder rhat only leaves 3-4hrs in that day, would then need to go back a second day to finish it off
