Just thought I would update this post as Ive found a really good artist in the Norfolk area.

Might help someone from my area, who may be looking for a decent artist. I’ve visited loads of sites and contacted many studios and these are the best IMO that I’ve found.

    Living Colours – Dereham:

Sean’s Body Art – Kings Lyn:

If you live in North Norfolk like me then this artist is another option

    Clive Povey 4Skin – Fakenham:

Glad they were of help to you.

I don’t think you will get better than “Living Colour” at Dereham, Norfolk. Very highly rated here! 😎 Superb inks, nice shading, super detail, fast work, and good prices, waiting time around 4 weeks, 3 artists work out of the studio, Roy, Ondine & Tori all are excellent 😎

I also know that Seans body art at Kings Lynn, is very good, but be prepared for a long wait, usually about 5-6 months before you can get an appointment.

After having work done by Clive Povey at 4Skin in Fakenham, TBH I would no longer recommend them, they are slow, expensive, unreliable, inks are shite, and the work is seriously let down by the shading and detailing!

    Good luck with your sleeve

Mine were done by Rytch @ Sith Tattoo in Norwich. He’s a nice bloke and does some great work. He sometimes has quite a long waiting list but I was there a few wekks ago and I think he’s booking for May time. The web site is here http://www.sithtattoo.co.uk .:)

Hi thanks for your help. How do you know who the right artist is for you? This is my first tattoo and obviously i am concerned about getting the tattoo that i want. I really want it in this style

I’m not copying this design in any way just like the style and colour of it. Is it realistic to expect an artist to come up with something like this?

    Regards,
    Kris.

There’s no picture showing mate, was there supposed to be?

As to picking the artist. Just look at their web site, if they have one, they will also have a portfolio at their shop and see if (a) you like their stuff and (b) if they seem to do the sort of style that the tattoo you want is. Also have a chat with them and see if you like their ideas for your piece, and if you want to sit in a room with them for a few hours!!:D

Sean at Seans body art is bloody good, but as you have found out there is a long wait, the reasons is because he is good! I couldn’t wait 6 months myself so looked elsewhere.

As someone else said Sith in Norwich is good from what I’ve heard, also some rave about Styx but some of their stuff Ive seen is just ok.

I still think Living Colour at Dereham takes some beating, Roy Summers is a world-renowned artist and has won awards & appeared in tattoo mags like skin deep, not many artists that I know of in Norfolk have this kind of recognition.

Personally I would only trust Living Colour. Ondine, Roy’s wife does mine, she too has won awards and is excellent considering how long she’s been tattooing, they listen to what you want, they give you choices, they work fast, and they are reasonable with their prices, and their inks rock!

As for 4Skin in Fakenham where I went for my first cover up…. I thought at the time it was good service but looking back now it suks, will be getting it reworked as the detail has already been lost, the inks were the wrong colour, (too much black ink used, instead of taking time to design something to cover properly) as a result it hasn’t covered properly, it took too long to complete and cost too much! looking back there was too much talking going on, constant interuptions, artists friends just walking into the area where you get tattoo’ed sitting down and watching and chatting, starting late, (I always arrived early) missed appointments, not a professional outfit and they need to up their game in my opinion.
