I got this tattoo on my right arm (from just above my elbow to the top of my shoulder) about 11 days ago and it was healing very well for the first week and still is for the most part, the only problem is that after 8 days the mouth on the tattoo changed. Originally it was curved up a bit and the lips were red with a small outline and small shadow, now it just looks like there’s a big black blob on the end of the mouth. I’m hoping that this is just something that will peel off over time but since it wasn’t like this originally I’m really worried. I followed the advice of the artist and did the same aftercare routine that had worked for my previous tattoo’s (aquafor for the first few days and then unscented lubriderm from there on out) the tattoo is almost completely peeled other than one small section on the back of my arm and the scabs have all come off. It’s still shiny and raised in some places but to the touch the mouth feels like normal skin, the anxiety is really getting to me though, the face really is the focal point of the tattoo.

I don’t have any pictures of the tattoo from the first week that show the difference but I do have a very good link to the original reference (3rd link), the mouth looked identical to the reference for the first week so I don’t know if something happened during the aftercare process or if it’s something that will be fixed upon complete healing. It’s just so strange to me that there was barely any ink put down there but now there’s this giant black spot and I haven’t been able to find anything similar online in days. I also found it strange that the ink all seemed to fill up the outline of the lip instead of having any seep out of the outline, which is probably preferable. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I said before the anxiety is really bothering me and it affects me in a lot of ways throughout the day so I really just want to get this figured out.

Difficult to say for sure yet, but that might just be a blowout. :/

It’s a very pretty tattoo, looks fixable at least, doesn’t look to bad to me, glad the blowout if it is didn’t go outside of her mouth… Have u considered touching up her mouth a darker red?
